looks like it all going to be great fun, we can use these to hunt down the politicians and the bankers.............yeah, maybe not.

you'ld hear these thing a mile off, throw a rock at it or something. i find a pack of doberman a scarier prospect.
actually a pack of jack russels is probably scarier.

future development might be bad but this is just silly.

if he had followed up that kick with a good shoulder charge that thing would have been down

just goes to show even advanced robot sytems will fall for the old some one crouches next to em someone else pushes em over gag

although if you are afraid of wasps/bee's the sound enough will scare ya

It's gotta be still in prototype stage. The way it moves and retains balance is amazing just from an engineering standpoint.

You can be sure with defense funding that these things will be silent and much smaller in a few years.

Very scarey indeed.

if that things chasing me i'll be sure to leisurely walk up a hill. that should grant me about a 3 minute head start once it reaches the top

it is interesting how it balances itself though. i'd like to see what could be done with this in the future, so long as it isn't given cognitive ability lol

yes it's weird seeing machines move similarly to biological creatures

sort of makes all those sci-fi shows with the incredibly powerful yet jerky robot people seem all the more retro, considering that with the present state of the art is moving toward mimicking biological fluidity of movement.

My thoughts too

I think the well-armed, testosteroned-to-the-teeth survivalist guys
would have a ball smashing these things and re-egineering them
--- before turning them against their owners.

They'd be a great source of materials and weaponry

I can imagine they might send a pack of them strapped with bombs to an enemy location from several different directions. Would be a pretty terrifying thought.

This robot was designed to carry heavy loads across all types of terrain with troops in mind. It has NO weapons.
There are some automated and remote controlled attack/defense robots with machine guns attached to them already completed like this one in South Korea:
You have 30 seconds to comply..

Will these robots be able to cope with shocking puddles?

I'd just kick its legs off and then rip out the wires.... Or smash it up with a hammer or something.

As people have said, the way its manages to retain its balance is simply amazing. I agree with Barathrum, its very strange to see a robotic system moving in ways similiar to a biological creature - however I suppose this is what the system has been modelled on.

Has anyone ever heard of the Cyberdyne Systems Corporation?
