Obama's Kenya ghosts

About 50 parishioners were locked into the Assemblies of God church before it was set ablaze. They were mostly women and children. Those who tried to flee were hacked to death by machete-wielding members of a mob numbering 2,000.

The details of the MOU were shocking. In return for Muslim backing, Mr. Odinga promised to impose a number of measures favored by Muslims if he were elected president. Among these were recognition of "Islam as the only true religion," Islamic leaders would have an "oversight role to monitor activities of ALL other religions [emphasis in original]," installation of Shariah courts in every jurisdiction, a ban on Christian preaching, replacement of the police commissioner who "allowed himself to be used by heathens and Zionists," adoption of a women's dress code, and bans on alcohol and pork.

Enter Obama

Mr. Obama spoke on behalf of Mr. Odinga at numerous rallies. In contrast, Mr. Obama had only criticism for Kibaki. He lashed out against the Kenyan government shortly after meeting with the president on Aug. 25. "The [Kenyan] people have to suffer over corruption perpetrated by government officials," Mr. Obama announced.

I find this odd, although I already knew about this, how common is it for and American to openly support a political candidate from a foreign country?

Kenyans are now yearning for change," he declared. The intent of Mr. Obama's remarks and actions was transparent to Kenyans - he was firmly behind Mr. Odinga. Mr. Obama's judgment is seriously called into question when he backs an official with troubling ties to Muslim extremists and whose supporters practice ethnic cleansing and genocide.

It was Islamic extremists in Kenya who bombed the U.S. Embassy in 1998, killing more than 200 and injuring thousands. None of this has dissuaded Mr. Obama from maintaining disturbing loyalties.

I was under the impression that the MOU in question was said to be a forgery. Has new proof stating otherwise surfaced since then? This article paints Raila Odinga as a Muslim extremist, he is more of a socialist libertarian if anything. Though he did technically lose the election by 200,000+ votes, the article fails to mention the "widespread evidence of electoral malpractices" (wiki) that caused the uproar. I certainly do not condone the violent acts his supporters committed, but if you voted for Kerry, you may somewhat understand their disapproval. I'm not calling Odinga a freedom fighter, but this article makes it seem like Obama's been having tea with Bin Laden or something.

P.S. Mark Hyman is an award-winning news commentator for Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. You may remember Sinclair as the ones who in 2004 refused to air a tribute to the fallen troops of the 2003 invasion of Iraq because they felt the program would undermine the efforts in Iraq. It would show Americans the side of war we must remain blind to in order to remain supportive. Sinclair did however approve a documentary criticizing John Kerry's Anti-Vietnam war activism to be shown during prime time, 2 weeks before the election but the democrats put a stop to that. Sinclair are affliates of CBS, ABC, NBC, and Fox (aka GE, Viacom etc.).

"Sen. Barack Obama designated a personal aide as his direct contact for the 2007 Kenyan presidential campaign of Raila Odinga, who later was appointed prime minister after his election loss was followed by widespread, deadly violence that destroyed or damaged 800 Christian churches, according to e-mails obtained by WND senior staff writer Jerry Corsi during a trip to Kenya.

Corsi attempted to release this and other information at a Tuesday press conference in Nairobi. The WND reporter and No. 1 New York Times bestselling author was detained by Kenya security officers as soon as he entered the hotel to make his presentation. He was held incommunicado and without food for the entire day before being permitted to board his regularly scheduled flight out of the country to London, where he is currently recuperating from the ordeal.

As WND has reported, Obama openly campaigned for Odinga during the Illinois Democrat's 2006 Senate "fact-finding visit" to Kenya.

Odinga called for protests over alleged voter fraud after losing the December 2007 general election. The resulting protest violence left an estimated 1,000 members of the dominant Kikuyu tribe in Kenya dead and an estimated 500,000 displaced from their homes.

The links between Obama and Odinga were documented by copies of two e-mails obtained by Corsi during his meetings in Kenya with various government officials and others.

The e-mails, apparently sent by Obama himself, referenced the senator's aide, Mark Lippert. The e-mails were provided to WND by an insider in Kenya who fled Odinga's Orange Democratic political party and requested anonymity because of the danger of retaliation."
