I've lost respect for Palin only in that she continues to stand by McCain's side and say he's the right leader for our country, while he's off ignoring the will of the people and voting us into bailout slavery.

Yea McCain is looking bad in my eyes

Have I lost respect for Palin, not yet,

I don't know what on earth is going on.

Now it all makes more sense.

If Palin doesn't have a grasp on the facts of the history of the world and the US then she will have to rely on advisors to fill in the blanks and tell her what to do. When I elect a President and a Vice (and potential) President I am voting for them their ability to perform the job.

McCain's future health has me very concerned that the odds that Palin would have to take the reigns are higher than a majority of past VPs. Palin is about as qualified as the Green Party ticket.

Please put America first when you vote.

You really don't see how if she had answered questions with real thought and knew what the hell she was talking about she could have avoided these gaffs??

She fed the monster.

Media has always been about the money and Palin is money. No one can edit what she said though and make it appear intelligent during any of her interviews, sorry.

Maybe they are biased, but it isn't like she is proving them wrong. Be honest.

This is what I have noticed ,they, the campaign handlers, control her,

there is a lot she doesn't know but that is to be expected,

maybe not knowing is a plus, being, you haven't been programmed by the political talking heads, and you are innocent, with a fresh perspective and view.

I think McCain didn't let her speak for herself she was to rehearsed,

We talk of experience, yet I must keep reiterating, look at what the experienced professional politicians have gotten us into.

Do you want a fresh new face and perspective or the same ole political machine?
Did she make a difference in Alaska? Isn't this what set her apart?

A truely bad choice by McCain!! However those in support of this Palin are going to say the same thing over and over again.

They asked her "gotcha" questions.. Or loaded questions..

And its NOT fair.. They shouldnt be asking her "gotcha" questions!

This woman scares the hell out of me.
Just think McCain is an old man.. IF he would croak, that woman would be our president!!!
NOOOO!

ATleast Joe could set up and he to me seems like he could handle the job if it came down to him or Palin.
Palin is a joke, and purely a really bad move on McCains part.

I will agree that the media is biased, you got the like of Fox News that try to paint Gov. Plain as a gift from God and compare her to Margaret Thatcher and then you get the MSNBC, CNN, that are after her like she is the anti-Christ.

The truth is somewhere in the middle BUT THEN, she goes to these interviews with Katie Couric, where Couric is not asking her anything extraordinary, she ask he about the issues:

-Bailout: Palin had no clue

-McCain record: Palin had no clue

-Foreign Policy: Palin had no clue

_Supreme Court cases: Palin had no clue

For all the intense and biased coverage on BOTH sides, Gov. Palin implosion is not fault but her own. And now you know why she was been protected and shielded for so long, she is just not ready...like prominent GOP and conservative columnist Kathleen Parker wrote she is just out of her league.

I think McCain didn't let her speak for herself she was to rehearsed,

That would kind of nip the "maverick" label in the bud, would it not?

For someone to say they are gonna change Washington.....and then take orders on what to say, verbatim???

Seems like the McCain campaign doesn't even know what she might say.

I see you point, however, You do know Obama too has many advisers, and is pretty green, and he is running for president.

He has has 300 foreign policy advisers.

One must wonder who are these people and are the qualified, lol, and who did they advise before, and what is their agenda,

politicians, ew what a nasty bunch of power hungry deceitfully goons.

I don't think it is necessarily true that she would be manipulated or controlled if you take into consideration her history of reform in Alaska.

I understand what you are saying, believe me I am looking at this from both sides,

Does the end justify the means?

I think if we all were honest, we must say,

None of the above.

Well that may be true, things could change dramatically if Palin shows everybody that she is able to hold her own to Biden

She couldn't even hold her own with Curic.

There is a difference between having knowledge and understanding of the issues and having people help you clarify or approach it from a different angle so your not basing decisions on one viewpoint, and being like Palin.

Not knowing. not understanding a basic idea or policy, or have any information is dangerous.

Knowledge is power, ignorance ( which we deny ) is dangerous and makes you powerless and easily manipulated.

Yes, she can be advised, but she is not going to be able to filter the advice because she does not know enough to be able to do that.

Basically they can tell her anything and she will do it because she doesn't know any better..scary.

After tonite's debate, Gov. Palin's poll number will rise because it is not a true debate. The participants have been given the questions. Some debate.

However anyone with an ounce of sense can see she is just a puppet, controlled by the folks that gave us PNAC.

If you are satisfied with what happened in the last 8 years; vote McCain/Palin.

I think if she outdo Biden this will go down as the biggest political ploy in history. When she came out she was an instant hit, at least with Republicans. She looked confident, charming, charismatic, and articulate. Then suddenly, she was locked away, no longer looked confident, seemed confused and troubled when speaking. Even to many she just looked dumb on the issues.

Tonight, the real Sara Palin will be back. I think it was a ploy to lessen her popularity up to the debate. She does good at the debate her popularity rises again headed into the home stretch of the election when it is needed the most.

Remember, this is the same woman who had the pressure of the world on her shoulder right before the convention. McCain campaign was being second guessed, his campaign was lacking, party not united, Palin and family were being slammed hard, and she rose up to the moment.

There is no better way to put it.

I say something to that effect in another thread, is not the same been young, inexperienced and knowledgable than young, inexperienced and CLUELESS, and thats where Gov. Palin sits right now

Lets be honest here, the bar for Gov. Palin has lowered so much right now that if she manage not to pass out during a question or having McCain step in to answer a question for her, she would be consider a winner.

while he's off ignoring the will of the people and voting us into bailout slavery.

funny how people condemn Mac for ignoring the will of the people but forget all about Obama doing likewise.

Did Obma listen to the people when he voted for FISA or the bailout.

I bet if Mac had not voted for the bailout and the bailout failed you would also be blaming MAC for being unemployed. Guess he lose either way.

And as far as Palin, I wouldn't rely so much on polls. Polls are driven by what the media screams. Most people are too lazy to come to their own conclusion or to do their own research. And many of you know that what I am saying is just the plain truth. Go to other websites like ATS and you will notice most of the comments are based on BS not facts. At least here on ATS people make an effort to do some research and back up what they are saying.

I have never entertained the idea of voting for Obama, and wasn't surprised in the least he voted for the bailout. Socialist is as socialist does. And while I wasn't completely surprised McCain voted for the bailout, I was very disappointed.

Nope. I wouldn't. I believe in personal responsibility, not handouts from the government.

I predict that Palin will do better than expected tonight. That's mainly because she's expected to be a total wipeout, and she will probably be ok with her answers to pre-arranged questions. As long as she doesn't get too nervous and become incoherent, as she has done in the past, she will likely perform satisfactorily. Of course, Biden will win hands down as long as he isn't perceived as mean-spirited and condescending toward her.
