Steve Fossett belongings possibly found in Sierra Nevadas

A weathered sweat shirt, cash and a pilot's certificate with Fossett's name were found Tuesday near Mammoth Lakes, police Chief Randy Schienle said. The certificate did not have a photo, he said.

"We're not certain that it belongs to Steve Fossett, but it certainly has his name on the ID," Schienle said.

They are sending search teams, but no specific location is told to us yet, just Sierra Nevada on the Eastern (desert) California side.

The hikers also found over 1000. cash and his pilots license.

No wreckage yet. I'm waiting for details and location data to look at in Google Earth to see how the terrain is. If near a hiking trail, accessibility will at least be available by foot.
