Is something up?
ATS is not loading 50% of the time.
Server error (internal-error 132) coming up.
Is it me or is anyone else getting this?

edit: I also get this: Safari can’t open the page “www.abovetopsecret.com...”. The error was: “Operation could not be completed. (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302.)” (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork:302)

I looked up internal error 132 and it means:
It means that the site is being flooded with malicious requests which are drowning out the site normal traffic.

Yikes.

Who's messing with us?

Kent Brockman: Hordes of panicky people seem to be evacuating ATS for some unknown reason. Professor, without knowing precisely what the danger is, would you say it's time for our members to crack each other's heads open and feast on the goo inside?

Professor: Yes I would, Kent.

There's 356 of us at this moment.
I don't think that's it.

SQL servers are bolting over here!

I've been investigating the issue, and it appears to be related to our load balancer. Our service provider has been notified.

This kind of started yesterday when I got a page that poped up off a certain advertisement. It started causing my hard drive to take 100% and I could do nothing until a pop up that said, this website wants to run vector graphics rendering add on, click to allow.

Needless to say I did not allow. It could be one of the advertisements with some hidden code or whatever that the SO needs to check out. I could not log in for several hours and kept getting unkown form error.

The "load balancer" is the device that balances the total load of our connections across our three web servers. Each incoming request for content is automatically sent to the server with the "least load" to keep things running efficiently.

We've exceeded the capacity of our current load balancer, and it is indeed the cause of the errors we're seeing. I've started planning for the upgrade, and will let everyone know what kind of service interruptions we might expect.
