With mass surveillance systems now prevalent in London, the burial place of George Orwell, America's 'Big Apple' is mulling its own 'Big Brother' network.

In a proposal by Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly, 'Operation Sentinel' would create a technological surveillance veil that scans license plates and photographs vehicles as they cross bridges and enter or exit tunnels. Radiological detectors would also be installed to sniff out potential terrorism threats.

The grip on society is really tightening. I mean the price and current trend for people to own a GPS, everyones plugged into the grid. Imagine the market research that could be derived from knowing where every car is. They could and can monitor ATS if they so wished. They can see any of the personal info you put on here. They can analyze every quip people write into their mood part of their avatars and gauge the general mood and temperament of the type of people who are interested in this site. What could be done with that info is anyones guess.

The olympics has a detrimental effect on mainstream media. I mean there is beginnings of a war unfolding and all you hear about is "Phelpsy" or "steamed rice" winning bits of metal. I purposely haven't mentioned anything in the way of the Russian/Georgia crisis at work as a kind of experiment and all they talk about is the weather or the Olympics. It's amazing, not one person has mentioned it. It's like if you're plugged in then issues that actually matter and could eventually effect your day to day life don't matter. You become consumed with trivialities. You cease to think as an individual and only know what you are told.

Rule number X of government propaganda about police state: Announce that you will do something only when the program have been running for years before hand... Which is the case now.

That's not surprising from one of the worst police forces in the country... NYPD.
