It seems like everything is being made in China!

A couple of weeks ago, I went to a Big R store to buy a new pair of workboots.

I picked out a nice (and expensive) pair of Justin (an American brand) boots and tried them on. Then I noticed the "Made In China" label on the tongue of the boot.

So I picked out another pair, made by John Deere. Guess what? "Made in China"!

I went through all the boots available. All of them were made in China.

I have nothing against the Chinese, but is it any wonder Bush is over
there kissing the Chinese butts by being at the opening of the Olympics.

I didn't see the Chinese over here at the Salt Lake City opening.

No, we are obviously slowly being taken over by the Chinese.

There is a Chinese group of people locally buying up any uncared for property and developing them into offices, shopping malls.

I wouldn't mind so much as it is good for the neighborhoods, but they are quite possibly the rudest people alive, forever complaining about the bill, and paying their bills at the last possible moment.

As far as I am concerned, the Chinese government (not the people) is out to take over America, as shown with Wal-Mart, and now developed into pushing out the Mom and Pops businesses who USED to be the backbone of America.

How about the Chinese troops protecting the Olympic torch in San Fransisco lately as an example of who is really in control.

Yes indeed. Everything is made in China. And most people wonder why China is so polluted. Most of the world, including the Chinese government has been using the Chinese people and their land as a means for profit. Wall-mart for example.

Beijing shut down a few provinces filled with factories for the olympic games, apparently it was like shutting down every single factory on the Australian eastern seaboard (which would be disastrous). All that pollution just so we can enjoy useless consumables.

well, it is great you are aware of this now. However it is bit too late as US already has debt of over 1 000 000 000 000 $ towards China. They worked really hard with wage of 1 $ / day , now is their time to enjoy life - dont you think?.The only way to save your country now is to watch out what you buy - but of course you have to be ready to pay a higher price as americans will not work for 1 $ / day...

I have nothing against the Chinese people (Though their government is completely F'd, way worse than ours) I try not to buy Chinese products, frankly they're crap. Their steel is so bad it will shatter if you drop a knife. don't even get me started on their swords.. Their electronics burn out quickly if they aren't completely defective to begin with.. most of the shoes you see in regular stores are made in china and they'll wear out totally within the month, with only average use (don't even try to do any heavy duty work or hiking in a pair of Chinese boots..) Ill admit their motorcycles are getting better but still a 'high quality high performance' Chinese bike will still be destroyed by the lowest quality lowest performance Japanese bike. If you're really unlucky a Chinese motorcycle will fall apart while your riding even after using loctite Their guns are horrible too. some of my friends joke around "If you want Chinese products.. go to America.. if you want American products.. check out china.."

I don't know how it is in China as far as the products their citizens have access to. but here in America we've pretty much gotta special order stuff If we want a decent quality product. They say we live in a throw away society.. That's because everything we get is made in china, and its been assembled by a guy in a sweat shop making $0.02 a day.

The only thing Chinese I will purposely buy are display pieces such as swords that will never be touched other then to be wiped down (otherwise they would snap)
