edit managed to get a big version of it, so sorry for the confusion

I took this photo the night before last, and the object in question is the small dot kinda in the middle.

I was along way away but i noticed it whilst riding my Bike home (motorbike), it was in one place, then another very quickly, and when i took the pic it was still, as i got back on my back it had moved again?? Unless i'm going mad??

Anyway i stopped and whipped my camera phone out a took a pic.
It has a 5mp camera, so it's not crap quality, just distant.

I've tried zooming in on my phone but it just goes kind of green.
i know there are many photo experts here and i'm not saying i have something, some proof of anything or anything like that, but i'm curious as to what it is and would like some help thanks.

Just put the pic on but it is only a small pic?
Hope someone can work out how to blow it up/enlarge it.

Thanks, Blup

I know, i'm sorry......just don't know how to enlarge or whatever.
Didn't want to run it through any other program before posting it, i wanted it to be raw and as it is.

I am asking for somebody to help, so until they do......most people will probably see a small black box on the imageshack site, until it's enlarged.

thanks.

These are two enlargements (by a factor of 20
):

Pixel resize

Resampled with bicubic algorithm

Honestly, i have no clue what it could be, just sharing the enlargements, hope this helps

I tried enlarging it using 'save picture as.' then editing it, but in the menu you can enlarge it, all I get to see is a dark grey pixelated blur. Sorry mate, could be anything like a bug , theres no discernable shape., If anything looks like a drop heading from lower left to upper right of the pic.
Sorry I can be any other use.
Maybe someone else may do better

Is there a way you can get it clearer.
When i zoom in on my phone, it's clearer and is green-ish.

I can give you the direct link or whatever?

Ah, well......thanks for trying guys.
I wish i was slightly more techy in photography/picture uploads.

It just caught my eye as i was riding home on the dual carriageway and i noticed this amazingly bright thing.... the next time i looked it had moved....i didn't see it in flight as such, was weird.
But even after i stopped and took the pic, as i put my helmet back on, looked up....it had moved again.
As i said in my OP, unless i'm going mad, this thing moved..quite a few times.
It wasn't Sirius(wrong direction) but not sure what it is.

I am always skeptical and don't think there is too much to this.

I just wondered if somebody knew what it was....I know a few things it wasn't, but not any closer to knowing what it was.

I'm not saying it's anything paranormal or ET-like, i would be one of the lastpeople to say that lol....but it has left me very curious.

I didn't post it until now because i see what happens when you post an inconclusive photo, and i'm one of the first to look for a rational explanation as opposed to paranormal....so i guess it's just ironic???

Nice job on the pics Internos, thanks.

Jokes aside, i guess it does kind of look like some nebula i've seen.
When you zoom in, it is green and shaped similar to a few that i've seen?

It does look like a nebula but thats impossible to take a photo of with a normal camera at night.

Here is a cropped and extremely sharpened copy of your object.

I dont recall any green nebulae being visable with the naked eye? Or was it only green when zoomed in? I am from the southern hemisphere so I might be thinking of a 'different' sky

I don't know??

I've had a u2u about it being a nebula and it does look similar i suppose to that kind of thing.

It is a 5mp camera, it's a nokia n95 8gb phone.

As i said, i didn't run it through anything or edit as i wanted to present it as it was when i took it.

Any other theories/possibilities?

I guess it could be a nebula but i'm no expert on taking shots with 5mp cameras of nebulas......is it possible, if so great......that is awesome, i have a great pic that i took on my phone of something that is ridiculously far away.

Thansk for the help guys, really appreciate it.

Could it be possible that you saw this?

It's called the Dumbbell Nebula and wiki says it's possible to see it using binoculars.

No idea about astronomy, but it does look a little to me like that object in your picture...

Oh and the site where i got that image from, this one, says the image is "approximately-true colour".

Dumbbell is at the top of his SKY at 21:32.

now we should ask The OP where was this object located in the sky and at what time.

[- but still impossible to get A NEBULA with a mobile -]

i dont know about that... you can easily see it with a pair of 8x binoculars, so by using a 5MP camera at full 4x zoom (check the exif), then cropping the image close, i can see this being possible.

of course if you use binoculars or a telescope, its is possible, i have done it [-not with dumbbell-]

but as far as i know the OP did not use any extra help [- binocular or telescope-]
