Just to get this out of the way first, did you just call sit ins nonsense? I'm sure the brave people of the Civil Rights Movement would disagree
with you.
Sorry, this thread slipped my mind.
We are not that far apart and you are talking to someone here who actually participated in sit-ins toward the end of that war.
Those sit-ins were more social affairs than anything. We arrived stoned and then had a big party afterward.
All I'm saying is we would have been more effective had we got the permits, respected other peoples right to enter their buildings and do their jobs
and moved on when the police requested it. Of course had we not been interfering with other innocent peoples rights in the first place the Police
would have left us alone. How do you think people felt when they were blocked from entering buildings or doing their jobs by a bunch of half stoned
students protesting things they had no part in?
One thing we did right though, is we never got violent or fought back. We did however make fools of ourselves on a regular basis. We were normal for
that age in that we thought older people were stupid sheep, but as we grew up ourselves we realized we had ignored lots of good advice because of our
youth. All young people rebel, every generation. If there were no war right now, young people would find another cause, right or wrong.
