On Jan 1, 1970, UNIX officially was "born". That made the day before that "zero".

No one was to have the name John Lear except the real John Lear..
so he banned the other names.

Given a choice of dates... guess one had to be entered.

WOW, that page that linked to the alien invasion.. the party line espoused
