Not meaning to go so far off topic, but you could also say the same thing about your personal computer.
We all have a number that can be and is tracked....it's called your IP address.
I may not be correct about this, but I think you cannot carry out a secure online purchase or even get on the internet without an IP#...thousands of people and more each day do all their business and shopping and even work solely from their PC's.
When computers became small enough to fit in a person's home lots of people wanted one....then as they got cheaper pretty much everyone wanted and still wants one....even the poorest of people like the idea of having a PC for many reasons.
I could go further into this but I think everyone gets my point here...also most people use the mouse or pointer pad with their right hand...so you have the number and the right hand thing at least.

To the OP...I have thought this same thing about cell phones so it is a good thing that I am never able to keep one, I keep breaking them or dropping them into some body of water

I know what you mean. I too have been thinking if I and many others already accepted the mark of the beast. It could be anything from, cell phones to license plates. But I still think that they want to implant us with the real chips. Because sometimes we don't carry our cell phones everywhere. Right?

It is an interesting theory indeed. Sometimes I just hope its not true. Not even possible. But the truth hurts. So yes, Cell Phones could actually be replaced by the chips!

I hate technology
No chip in my body. Its probably going to be a health risk also.

I would rather do without being in the system. I can grow my own food thanks.

but can you grow your own internet connection?

you are in the system

pretty much what the OP was saying

Fine, i wish they would clean up the internet and move porn to .xxx then i can block it. For this alone they can have all the internet control they want.

As far as tracking me goes, big deal. I can run around in circles all day and pollute their data mining cubes with junk.

Fine by me. I also with all sites would use SSL by default. In fact I SSL tunnel myself to my own machines. Yes they can decript it. Big deal.

They can decrypt everything in that case.

I can happily do without the internet, indeed I do every chance I get and then go outside.

I already leave a huge trail at work never mind at home by the broadcasts of our source control system, our share point sites and wiki edits. Big deal.

They can target spam me all they want, I see it as "don't buy my product" broadcasts

Just wait for the day when your employer can have access to that information. You call in sick to go to your sons little league game. Your employer decides to check if you are home or at the doctors office and sees you at ball park. Then they decide that is a double accurance even with a doctors note. It's a brave new world we live in.

They already do. Big deal. They are corporate sharepoints and wiki sites internally. I don't contribute externally. Big deal.

We actually recently have a site that pulls all these together into a corporate social network site that integrates with outlook. Big deal.

They already know the stuff I edit at work, its all work related. If i do private stuff I SSL tunnel to my home machine or gosh darn, wait until I'm at home.

They can watch all the stock tickers I watch at work all they want.

that already happens alot with people who have on the job injury claims and continue faking their injury to not work and get paid and then they get busted, of course, its not cause the BEAST is keeping track, the company will usually hire and investigator

At least here we don't have to piss into a cup to get a job interview unlike America. We actually have human and employee and consumer rights here.

Where I am is VERY relaxed
The unions make the laws and you are VERY protected. That's the job of government and they do it here. Gosh darn, a working system and its socialist!.

The police don't have any means by which to turn on your cell phone's microphone and listen to what you're doing. I am part of AT&T's Tier 3 Support Team and I can certainly attest to the fact that no cell phones hold this functionality

Well anybody with a cell phone can certainly be tracked, pretty cheaply too ! Check out this link for more details. sends chills down my spine, it means the wife can know where I am at all times :-(

I'll give my two cents as to the original topic at the end here, but feel that there are so many concerns with cell phones in general on this post that they should be addressed due to the fact that there is much misconception on the topic.

Quoting other posters:
- "at any one time, your mobile phone can give your co-ordinates to within either 10ft or 10m accuracy i cant remember which."
- "You could not be any more correct. Cell phones are tracking devices. If people don't wake up; all the information they are providing on themselves to the government - may one day be used against them. The only way to disable the tracking capabilities of a cell phone is to remove the battery."

These claims are all TRUE: (Under ceratin CONDITIONS.)

1. Many cell phones offer the option, if you dig deep enough in the menus, to turn OFF the location ability completely. Some have the option of having the location ability enabled automatically ONLY when the number 911 is dialed.
2. Tracking your cellphone to a certain location can be done one of TWO ways.
a. You are activiely on a call, and your signal can be traced and located to within a small area.
b. The GPS, Chip, etc is UNlocked for use, activated and tracked by sattelite to a much closer position.
3. The "police can listen to you through your cell phone even when turned off" claim is a little misleading. It takes several things to make this happen:
a. The cell phone carrier, may have to remotely install software causing the phone to call an FBI number where the “open mic” could be recorded while the phone’s display still indicates it was off-hook and offline. (This may or may not work while the phone is powered down, but still has the battery intact, depending on the phone model and software it has.)
b. An affidavit requesting the court order for electronic surveillance including the phone number, the 15-digit IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identifier), and the name of the carrier for the cell phone they want to bug. (This is something UNnecessary for a physical phone bug on a traditional land line phone.)

So, unless you're being hunted by the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, or the local police have a FEDERAL charges to pin on you, you don't have too much to worry about. As a privacy issue, there may not by any immediate cause for concern because this his method of surveillance requires the cooperation of cell phone providers, so it is currently only useful as an eavesdropping tool for government agencies — which, by itself, may or may not be cause for concern. (See The Patriot Act) However, since this is simply an application of software, it’s probably only a matter of time before hackers or virus writers make this a much more common occurrence, so eventually, it will becaome more of an issue.

As far as "The mark of the beast" is concerned, as is the ORIGINAL topic of this discussion, IF such a thing happens, I think it will be much more obvious than cell phone use. Yes, I've thought about it, amongst other correlations, but it just doesn't feel right. The Bible reads in such a way that it doesn't lead us to believe that it will be anything less than something physical, something visceral that we can see and will know it as such when we do. Yes, cell phones are harmful, yes they can be used against you, but are they really the work of the Devil, or just another of man's inventions getting away from us so fast that our mentality of convenience overshadows their true danger? Just look at what we did with nuclear power.

Why do people always come up with these wild speculations about the "mark of the beast?"

Revelations is NOT ambiguous on this subject. The mark is clearly and precisely defined as the number 666. The book is very clear that people will willingly accept the mark of the beast, AS the mark of the beast, knowing full well that in doing so they are swearing their allegiance to Satan and rejecting God.

In other words, when the mark is introduced it will be deliberately obvious as to what it is. Both God and Satan will want it this way, because then it can be used as a clear definition of one's allegiance. At judgment, nobody will be able to say, "Well, I just got one because I thought it was an easy way to talk to people."

Of course, this post is written under the assumption that there's any truth to the Bible and Christianity, which is another topic entirely.

Ah a topic that was already hot when I was a boy and someone pointed out this anomaly of the barcode. I immediately was intrigued for I was a little blackfoot rock rooster back then.. WTbleep!

Look at the tree guard bars that flank and divide the code (EAN13) spelling 666.

The EAN code (European Article Numbering) originated in Europe and is now used all over the world except America. However, the EAN13 code directly descended from the UPC-A (Universal Product code.) that is standard in the US and Canada. And yes, this code uses tree guards but they do not spell 666. in the UPC-A code. However, EAN13, now the worlds standard is a hybrid code that actually is part UPC-A so it is a strong candidate to overthrow the UPC-A in a matter of years becoming the soul code for all products sold in stores.

Now this world standard is being updated to a system called RFID (radio frequency Identification). Which is spinning off something called Near Field Communication. From this stage on this post interlaces with the topic cause this technique is experimented with to turn cell phones into electronic purses. The ultimate cash replacement.

Intriguing ain’it?

Yes it is possible. Echelon filtered this message before you read it. Echelon listened to every phone call you've made today and has been listening for years. Every time you write an email, make a post, or phone a friend, it gets vetted by Echelon.

You say something they are listening for, or don't like, and the message is flagged and passed to the higher ups.

Echelon Listens to every conversation on Earth that goes thru an electronic media. There is no way around it.

Yes, it is possible.

I personally think that the mark isn't so much the cell phone as much as the bar code technology associated with purchased. That bar code combined with RFID are used for almost ALL purchases here in the US, EU, AUZ, and Japan. Think about that. When was the last time you bought something, that didn't get scanned? If you go to any big box store, you've been scanned, if you own any major electronics, there are bar codes and RFID in them. Hell, even your car has them.

Try to live a life stictly cash based, without purchasing anything that can or has been scanned.

On the flip side. I'm an agnostic by nature, and as such, don't think the bible should be taken literaly. While I do think that the bible is a historical book, full of knowldege. I don't feel its the word of God. No more then the Koran, or the Torah, or the Sanscrit from India, or the writing on Incan and Eygptian temples. All of them do have a purpose though. Be careful what is easy, as easy may not be the best.

Cheers,

Camain

Over the years, I have read stories of our government wanting to implement a chip into each citizen of our planet(but mostly in developed nations like the USA), for nefarious reasons. We have speculation that the government is introducing the chips into us by nefarious means, through vaccines, through clothing, or through force.

I propose that most people will accept and have accepted the chip willingly, and many have paid exorbitant fees to have this chip, and they all do it willingly, and some, eagerly.

The chip need not be implanted, because the citizen seeks the chip out willingly. He also has the chip on his body or with in arms reach at ALL TIMES, voluntarily, of course.

He goes straight into the store and chooses the chip that fits his lifestyle the best. Maybe she chooses her chip on account of the features it possesses, and yet someone else will choose their chip for other reasons. The only thing remarkable about this is that each and every person has chosen this chip willingly, and have been choosing them for more than a decade, often paying hundreds of dollars a month for continuing service for their chips.

The bible states, rev 13:18,
"Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."

Of course the chip has a number of man, each chip has a unique identifying number associated with it. Some people go so far as to pay for a number of their own choosing! And some people use the same number to identify their new chip.

When people lose this chip, they usually immediately replace the chip, and there is no need to implant them, because people freely carry their chip on their bodies. Quite often, they carry their chip in precisely the manner the Bible states the number of the beast will be marked, in their right hand and near their foreheads!! (also in rev chapt. 13).

This is just a theory of mine, and I wanted to post it and get a discussion going on this topic. I myself am considered a fogey old dinosaur for NOT having a chip.

In my theory, the chip is called a cell phone. Am I the only one who has this theory? Cell phone towers are everywhere. I wish I knew more about frequencies and waves and that kind of technology, I want to know if my theory could be possible.
At any rate, thanks for reading!

not to be offensive, but i disagree,do we all HAVE to have cell phones or we die.no we dont, will there come a time when our government says buy a cell phone or die...ummm....maybe im missing something here, but im not seeing your point....peace

Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name....so if noone can buy or sell then that means no food, unless of course you can live off the land correct?europe is actually working on a chip instead of currency, also mentioned of the same topic on ats in another thread the mythbusters actually did some experiment wih a chip.i think these chips are the next currency not cell phones...thats just my opinion
