My all time favorite "Gangster Movie" is :

The Untouchables

When I hear reference to a "Gangster" I think old world, as in "Babyface Nelson", "Elliot Ness", and "Bonnie and Clyde" being that it was Prohibtion. For those who do not know it, the "War on Drugs" is "Prohibtion II."

I don't do drugs, never have, never will.

Some of my favourites have already been mentioned... but some others would be Scarface and the Italian Job.

The ending of The Godfather #1 is the best movie ending I've ever seen. -Just great in every way.

Angels with Dirty Faces is a good oldie.

Wouldn't 'Revenge of the Nerds' (an American comedy film) qualify as a bunch of guys who 'gang' together to 'right' the wrong? I do not understand why the word gang should be attributed with the 'bad' boy or tough guy image.

but my most favourite and in my opinion, THE best ever gangster movie would be

CIDADE DE DEUS. it's a Portuguese foreign film. called City Of God, in english. i recommend everyone, especially those with a critic's eye to watch it.

Can't have a Gangster Movie list without Mean Streets.
