I figured since things are getting a bit crazy on ATS with Robbie Williams' Sighting experience, I'd try and deflect some of the music conversation to a separate thread. Whether or not he could handle discussion on this thread and the IN HIS OWN WORDS thread will ultimately be determined by him, but I hope we can be responsible and move some of the discussion over here because I'm sure he's burned out by all the questions right now. I know I would be. Not to mention the stress I'm sure the MODs are going through over there.

Anyway, here's the thread I'm referring to. Please keep any alien topics over there. I know the two subjects mix a bit, but I think it's appropriate now to split the discussion up a little.

*end of soap box speech*

Edit: I thought I'd clarify that this thread is mostly for fans of Robbie. They need someplace to state their support and discuss his music and ideas/questions about it, other than flooding out relevant questions about his experiences. Thanks!

Nice idea, but to be truthfull I think there is more than enough sites on web about his music, don't get me wrong I am a huge fan of the Man and his music.

But it is nice to come to a site where it is not going to be full of crazy fans and believe me I know a few sites that have them.

I am a wee bit worried about how many fans will find this page and some might already have and then he will get no peace at all.

But lets see, like I said nice of you to think about this.

Oh, I wasn't really trying to make a "fan site for Robbie" thread. It's just a place we can move general conversation about his music, similarities to other artists, and so on. I do see your point though but I also (like you) see the possibility of fans swarming him on this site. Hopefully that won't happen though. I can imagine the attention might be flattering for awhile but it would also be suffocating. The nice thing about ATS is I've noticed that when people announce that they're leaving "their thread" for awhile, the thread dies down until they get back on.

Yes but I think in Robbie's case the flatterly would just wash over him as he is so used to it all, The way I see it was he wanted to be himself on here which was why he wanted to keep is ID quiet, but good on him for coming out and sticking up for what he believes in.

The guy gets such a hard time in the Uk by the press and then the fans are all slagging him at the moment because of all this UFO stuff and no music from him.

The guy just wanted to take time out and escape the public eye for a while and no matter what he does he gets slagged for it and it makes me cross like i said he is still a human being with needs and wants like everyone but some fans thing they own him or something.

And it is nice that the thread has gone quiet for a while gives one a chance to catch up on all the post.

Anyway i wasn't putting you down in any way for doing this thread just trying to give the man some peace in some small way.

Glad you understood

That's a good move Isaac. Keeping the other thread purely about his ufo experience. Well done!

Meet Robbie Williams

Like many Americans, I hadn't even heard of Robbie Williams until he came to ATS. He hasn't gotten much exposure in the U.S. (certainly not proportionate to his stature in the rest of the world), so all the commotion is no doubt leaving quite a few of us scratching our heads.

For those of us who are unfamiliar with the man, I recommend checking this out:

Wikipedia: Robbie Williams

Then Google him and marvel:

Google: robbie+williams

Suffice it to say that after all that, I'm really beginning to feel like I've been living under a rock.

In any case, you don't get those kinds of chops without having epic, legendary talent, and as an aspiring musician myself, I can't help but feel a bit intimidated. But it's definitely an honor to have him aboard as a fellow member.

Respect.

It was about the same for me. I'd heard of Robbie plenty of times but just didn't know much about him. I can probably honestly say I know more about his experience 5 months ago right now than I know about his music. I expect I'll be getting to know his music better in the future though.

This weekend has really sparked my interest in the supernatural qualities of music. I was especially impressed by an article I came across just yesterday:

How to sing like a planet
Scientists say the Earth is humming. Not just noise, but a deep, astonishing music. Can you hear it?

www.sfgate.com

This is the kind of thing we forget.

This is the kind of thing that, given all our distractions, our celeb obsessions and happy drugs and bothersome trifles like family and bills and war and health care and sex and love and porn and breathing and death, tends to fly under the radar of your overspanked consciousness, only to be later rediscovered and brought forth and placed directly in front of your eyeballs, at least for a moment, so you can look, really look, and go, oh my God, I had no idea.

The Earth is humming. Singing. Churning out a tune...

I guess it's probably worth creating an entirely separate thread on this topic, but I wanted to point out the significance that music has on our lives and really the entire universe around us. It's obviously made its mark on Robbie's life, in more than one way.

Hello from Germany!
What do you think… SURELY did fans (and I am one, yiiihaa Robbie!) recovered this sites!
And I did read them on ATS – all 27… not easy to understand.
But honestly - some posts are a little bit strange, perhaps like the 2012-Theory… (But good to hear from it, so I won’t be so surprised, when it happens!

I want to hear the Arizona-Song! And hopefully I will be able to identificate those “Solfeggio Frequencies”!!
So, Robbie – you again opened a new door for me for thinking about new things…THX!
And as you see – I decided to register on ATS. Because now there are some other things, I want to figure out here.
I know this is not a new Fan-Forum. For this I go somewhere else.

Keep on being yourself, chrisonabike!
All my love and respect

Heidi

I know Rob doesn't came to this site to talk about his music. So we must respect that. Though I want to say to al american people that you don't know what you're missing. The music of Robbie Williams is great. Infact, in my opinium the best there is. He is the best songwriter on this planet. His lyrics are always interesting. For both his albums and his B-sides (especially the songs Toxic, love somebody, the 80's, the 90's and Coffee Thea and Sympathy. Look them up). He is the new Elvis Prestley. I hope to see him come back with a new album very time soon.

rw is an exceptional artist, a brilliant singer, an awesome entertainer and a great songwriter. he's got a gift.... his lyrics can touch peoples hearts and not many artists can write such songs... you have to see him live if you want to know how he connects with people and the universe when he is on stage...
listen to 'feel' if you want your soul to get a stroke... and listen to 'viva life on mars' if you want to discover his alien interest a bit more. very different songs but both are amazing...

On behalf of Robbie fans around the world, I would like to take this opportunity to apologise most sincerely and humbly for the way ATS has been hijacked by those from 'Planet Fan'.

The vast majority of us have looked on aghast at what has been happening on your site over the last few days, and would wish to disassociate ourselves entirely from those people who have suddenly developed an interest in all things paranormal.

I am sure that this thread was set up with the best of intentions, but this is not the place for anybody to be asking Robbie about his music/future career plans/life/underwear preferences etc etc. He has his own official site which should be responsible for providing that kind of information, it does not fall within his or ATS' remit to have to deal with that kind of stuff on here.

Additionally there are hundreds if not thousands of fansites around the world which have been set up precisely for this purpose.

All self respecting Robbie fans (for this is not a misnomer, as is unfortunately the widely accepted opinion, perpetuated by the actions of some in the name of the many) should get back to the fansites where you belong, and leave the good people of ATS, including Robbie himself, to discuss their area of expertise in peace.

lol I felt the same way! I was embarrassed to admit that I had no idea who he was. I have since given his music a listen.. some of it I have heard and just had no clue who the artist was.. Only one I really liked.. I am more of a dance music and classic rock kind of person myself so I listen to ATB, Armin Van Buuren, DJ tiesto, and artists like that most of the time. I did enjoy Rock DJ though. errr.. til he tore off his skin.
I bet he feels a bit like that right now though.

Exposed and vulnerable.

Well said, this is to the anonymous ATS poster above Nephra Tari (its not that easy replying to you guys). With sincere words like that you should join up and become a member here. Thanks for what you said it means alot.

As for Robbies music I think its best left to the fansites around the world, they can do it much better than we can. He is a great musician but Im only interested in his thoughts on the paranormal and nothing more.

Thanks,

JQ

Rob, if you read this think of the members of the Inner Sanctum on robbiewilliams.com of which I am one. In my humble opinion that is where you should be discussing your music and career plans - you promised us blogs and we have had very few. And we are paying good money to sit and wait.

I have every respect for your interest in the paranormal and even more respect for you as a musician and a human being but at the moment I feel a little peeved that the only way to hear your thoughts is on ATS. It seems inappropriate and also unfair to the members of ATS whose site is being gradually hijacked.

Yeah, I agree! American people are missing THE BEST SINGER IN THE WORLD!!
I am a fan of Robm and I think Robbie is a great singer! I love all his songs... I think, if someone wants to know more about rob's music, I think the best to start is «Angels», cos' that song is AMAZING, and evrybody loves it! - From kids of 5 years to people of 60,70,80... It is a really great song, and it always makes me cry... But if you are a person who likes "dance music", «Rock Dj» is the right, I think THE BEST!! Also «Let Me Entertain You», it is amazing!
