Hear hear, PV!

I rarely watch any tv, but I am particularly fond of Jack Cafferty--one of the few MSM players that is not a sock puppet. Abrasive, disgusted, disabused, he usually cuts to the heart of the matter and shows up the hypocrisy surrounding whatever subject he comments upon.

The Chinese are goons--they're an oppressive Communist-cum-just-make-a-buck society, last I checked; Why this outpouring of misplaced sympathy?

I'll stand by Cafferty, we need more in the MSM like him, a veritable dinosaur in the castrated, blow-dried MSM of today.

Here, China you first:

And yes we have rampant animal cruelty happening in America- but we don't open theme parks to promote it or proudly drive this horror show through the streets:

Now you know. And a special note to all the oppressed and frightened people of China- Get the hell up off your lazy arses like your true hero did:

You people keep telling us to wake up. I say- physicians- heal thy selves.

Again, this is because too many of anti-China crusaders are trying to generalize one small tiny problem to add to their overall anti-China perspective, making unjustified and unverfied claims, which are much more complicated than it seems and require more details and evidence to debunk.

I will refer you to read my signature. And kindly ask you stop busting balls in these threads and implying that Chinese and pro-China members are not to blindly accuse anyone not supporting your views as an agent.

Yay! You used my 'busting balls' line. I'm going to westernize you yet, Ichi.

AND you created a signature mostly based on me, I'm flattered.

I think a distinction needs to be made here between China, her people and the Chinese government. I took the commentators statement to be referring to the Chinese government and not the Chinese people, who are as a whole pretty decent folk as far as I can tell (and I have visited China).

The Chinese government, however, does behave like criminals with regards to their overbearing state control over thought crimes. A great example is how they treat the underground christian church. These people are systematically imprisoned and tortured simply for what they believe, right or wrong and not for their conduct.

Based on some of the Chinese military's published doctrine with regards to assymetric warfare, one has to also assume that the Chinese government is not above poisoning food or painting children's toys with lead, if it harms Western countries. They have already been caught planting viruses in their manufactured external hard drives. There is also some evidence that the Chinese actually used agent provaceteurs to generate violence in Tibet, so that they could justify a harsh military crackdown.

Opinions are opinions and facts are facts. The Chinese ARE trying to become the number one superpower and let no one forget it. They currently have a lot of the world by the short hairs economically and what's really crap is their human rights policies and not their products.

If we want to start a real fight then why not openly declare what a lot of my 'Nam buddies said during the war: "theres' gooks out on the wire and aiming to kill us, so lock and load." But thats just MY OPINION.

I can only assume you mean me. I am not anti-china. I am anti-communism-anti-fascism-anti-dictatorship. I believe the Chinese government demanded an apology for CNN calling them goons and selling junk.

If the shoe fits........

The entire world is calling our leadership and our government and our people all kinds of names- are we demanding apologies?

I sure as hell am not because most of it is true! Sad to say- but it is.

Yes, I like to use simple lines which are to the point
That is what I like so much about the English language.

As for my signature, unfortunately the flattery is not applying to you, but to a huge portion of the ATS community. Maybe you don't know, but I opened an account about a year ago and mostly lurked in the topics I was interested in, but i see a gradual degarding of the quality, especially by members who are ignoring the evidence and proof brought up by another member. And this is regardless of whatever topic you encounter, too many ignorant people who are pretending to deny ignorance in ATS *sigh*

What for? This is not China, this is America, he can say whatever he pleases.

I do not like Jack Cafferty, but I happen to agree with his opinion. However, if it wasn't for the Chinese, our happy meals would go toy less.

I read your posts. It's just that you are flying the China flag- which means you support the government. This is why I stuck my tongue out at you

I will not fly the American flag until the Constitution is reinstated and the power is given back to the people- we can then unite for Liberty, Justice and Freedom and live up to all those things we said we would and our president can be a man to make sure that we live up to what we said we are going to do. But then.... Communism will have to stay on their side of the fence.

Personally I think its a little late for that...Don't you? However- I would give my soul for it not to be too late- so we could find a way to co exist and even trade with each other and enjoy our cultural differences without having to say ours it better- just appreciate each other and say- hey that's cool without having to buy all of each others beliefs.

I have an enormous infinity for Chinese artwork. I have a gorgeous 19 century Cinnabar cabinet that is so incredibly detailed that people "gasp" when they see it the first time- Same thing with a bench. That said I seriously doubt any world leader has ever taken the time to create something so beautiful- because they are too Fxxxxxng lazy to get off their arses and do anything for a living other than screw everyone out of everything so they can have it all for themselves!

Cretins- the lot of them

I do not burn or desecrate the American flag- but I won't fly it either

It's not up to the media or citizens to apologize for their right to free speech. If anybody needs to apologize to anybody, it would be our "representatives" whom we pay to deal with foreign relations. Not to mention, China does not have protection against slander by another country. The Chinese-Americans are afforded this right while citizens of America but not the entire country of China!
If they can oppress their people, our media can certainly complain about their crappy products that...

1. Contain lead based paints
2. Contain poisons that harm our animals/people
3. Break when you blow on them
4. Replaced America's "better" products

Of course we can say it is the American peoples fault for purchasing these cheap products which forced our companies to lessen their quality standards, but when a poor and dying nation who is being bankrupted by criminals of unknown origin -->(The White House Cabal) is faced with a product they can afford while on social security benefits, the choice is clear. Wait until China drops the dollar along with Iran and soon to be more countries. Either America will roll over and die, or the sleeping giant will be one pissed off monster. Bombs Away.

The Chinese flag is more to piss off the Pro-Tibetan supporters who added the Tibetan flag in their signatures
And of course I'm still a Chinese patriot, so don't mind the Chinese flag hanging.

Actually I'm not so sure to what extend we still could call China a communistic country. The moment China abandoned collectivism and embraced a capitalistic economic system, I believe that China has become more like a socialistic country with Chinese characteristics.

No system is perfect, so ain't that one of China, but for the majority of the relatively low-educated poor population we are at least having some hope that the country will continuously being reformed and prosperity, like what we see in those advanced developed coastal metropoles, brought into every corner of China. This process will take decades or maybe even longer to complete. Untill then don't expect that the Chinese population will ever support the climbing over the fence into the back garden of the neigbour. After all if you like me, could walk on the streets of one of the supposed most developed and advanced Metropole of China and after a dinner you see that there are a few dozens people who sit on the street watching that second handed TV in front of the restaurant, then you would understand that how poor the people still is in China. Then people will understand what we mean by that taken for granted basics in the West is a unaffordable luxury in many homes.

When there are more internal problems in the country don't expect that the population will be interested in looking outside, unless it involves something with China's interests. And any government would need to have a certain base of people's support to continue functioning. This is why Mao failed in the Great Leap Forward/Cultural Revolution, and Deng succeeded in the peaceful gradual reforming and opening of China for close to 3 decades.

The problem is now that the people of outside China should not think we are a threat to them, but rather maybe a partner in creating a properous world together. The recent events show to us that this fear of Chinese overruning the world is mainly in the West, while in most of the non-Western world you don't see the same hostility and fear towards China.

Following article is quite interesting addressing the upcoming of new superpowers.
The Depressed Superpower

Co-existing in a peaceful world with mutual respect and understanding should be the only common goal we all together should work to. No matter how difficult.

I will definitely read the link you provided. However- you must know that China is now by far more richer than the U.S.A. I know that the peoples of China are not seeing much if any of that money- this is pure communism. Sadly, it is happening here as well.

It won't last much longer- How can it? They have to kill billions of people- not because the planet is unable to support and feed us all- its because we collectively want peace and harmony- which pisses of the few greedy evil Fxxxks that want it all for themselves.

Have you guys caught onto Obama yet? Have you heard about the incident where he got his pee-pee handled by a man? And he's a devout Christian. What an awesome way to hide a Muslim...wouldn't you agree?

I digress...I know you folks are starving and I know you have lousy amusement parks- but come on- get that damn "safari" feeding crap closed down. How people treat animals is how they will treat people!

Your link sent me to a 404 page error in German.

We are talking about NWO depopulation conspiracy theories here, which I am highly spectical about.

Obama, Hillary or McCain, who knows who will be the next President of USA. I just hope for the best of the American people to get a worthy president this time, you guys deserve it. (I think I posted that somewhere in a thread about Obama.)

I digress...I know you folks are starving and I know you have lousy amusement parks- but come on- get that damn "safari" feeding crap closed down. How people treat animals is how they will treat people!

This is the difference in Culture. In the north of China they look at the GuangDong people (south of China) with awe when they only need to hear about that the Cantonese eat even Rats. As a Cantonese Hong Kongnese I will kill anyone who try to force me to eat that delicious smelling roasted rat. Hey, but this is the difference in culture.

As for the people, in general the overall opinion of Chinese people is that whoever break the law or have hurt someone else will not deserve to have any human rights whatsoever. For example, a smuggler of selling the national protected Panda beer, if convicted, you can count on that over 99.99% of the people will support the death penalty. Ironically we have to wonder why a human life will be taken away to protect an animal?

I imagine Mccafferty was referring to the Chinese Government, not the Chinese people. And of course, the Chinese government and all its little minions are Goons.

Modern Chinese government is a disaster. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. And the rich are well connected to the Communist Party. Mao preached sex was unrevolutionary while he banged virgins. Is it any wonder the Communist revolution is a disaster? It's even worse than Western Capitalism (as opposed to 'Communist Capitalism'!).

Of course, the interesting thing will be how CNN reacts. Does China have the financial muscle to make CNN tone down the rhetoric? For sure. One day, if not already, the owners of CNN might need to be well-connected to the Communist Party in order to get richer.

Mcafferty won't have to apologize, but he'll be quieter about China
As will Loony Lou. There all part of the pantomime.

LOL, this is funny. Good for CNN allowing such a concept as freedom of speech to mean you know, freedom of speech. If China doesn't like it too bad. Quit acting like goons and you won't have to worry about being called one.

For a country that wants to be a big boy country they sure do cry a lot of little things.

I actually see serious potential conflicts between ordinary chinese people and western people. So much deliberate distortion.

What I am really worrying is: who is behind this. Who is fueling the hatrid, and why. Who will get all the benifits from such a conflict.

Think of this. The future of the world, you, me, and them, all of us, relies heavily on the degree of cooperation between the west and China. Friendship and kindness should prevail, not hatrid or distortion.

That is why I, or we, pay so much attention to this thread and the like. We got to be honest to ourselves. If something is wrong, it is wrong.

The Chinese government has been acting like a wounded victim
since it is constantly losing the public relations battle against the
Free Tibet movement and the Dalai Lama.

The Chinese propagandists are so used to squashing dissent that they
do NOT know how to behave in the global arena. They come off as
infantile bullies who are so spoiled by having their way in China-
(through the use of violence) that they are unable to act in a
sophisticated way when the eyes of the world are on them.

Last week there was an article in the paper that China is hiring a
huge western public relations firm and that people will be sold
a new China like it's the new coke.

I hope infantile China does grow up and stops acting like a nouveau riche spoiled brat
who always got his way at home. We have our own goons in the USA too.
Infantile Bush is another spoiled brat who needs to grow up too.
