I did a small report on DU for one of my college class and found alot of very interesting information on the effects of DU and the other damages it can cause. I also found out that the U. S. used tons of DU in Iraq both times and in Afghanistan. I was wondering if anyone had more information on DU and I also would be interested in others views on the subject.

Variety of threads on this that you may be interested in going through beeefeer. You may agree, may not agree, but DU rounds have been argued, debated, and discussed within a variety of threads.

And probably some I missed.
I used ATS search and used:
"Depleted Uranium"
"DU rounds"

I hope this helps.

A very good book I read recently dealt a lot with the effects of U-238 shells on the environment and people of the region.

The New Nuclear Danger: Military Industrial Complex
By Dr. Helen Caldicot

Helen Caldicot is an Australian pediatrician by profession, who founded Physicians for Social Responsibility which has spent much of its time treating those people who have fallen victim to America's small nuclear wars.

Check it out!

It's considered a banned weapon by the UN since it's half-life is something like 30,000 years.

Go USA.

I found that the metal amorpous is going to be used instead of the DU rounds. Called, (Kenetic energy penetrator)

I posted about the metal. Its said it in the discover mag.
It is the strongest metal ever made. A rod one inch in diamiter would lift 550,000 pounds.
