Since February 5, 2004, over 57 lives have been claimed in the bloody uprisings between rebels and the Aristide government in Haiti. The government of Prime Minister Aristide still have not regained control of cities and towns under rebel control as a humanitarian crisis begins to evolves.

Haiti's 5,000-member police force appears unable to stem the revolt, but Aristide and Neptune stopped short of asking for military intervention.
Secretary of State Colin Powell said Tuesday "there is frankly no enthusiasm right now for sending in military or police forces to put down the violence."

"no enthusiasm"? I think he means "no economic threat to America from Haiti converting their OPEC oil reserve funds into euro's", not to mention that there would be no great future economic advantage to big American corporations, with any policing in Haiti now. Simply going in to save human lives and instill peace is not near good enough reason for all that expenditure of military movement into Haiti...

... sorry for the negative rant... :-|

Well I guess America's going in to help the PEOPLE end at 2 countries. Unless, of coarse, a grade 4 student says they have WMD's. Hey Dogg

The USA did interfere back in 1994 with Military, following the arrival of large amounts of refugees on rafts into Florida waters, perhaps the USA is waiting for the same situation to occur, before getting involved.

Well to be fair hasn't everything been tried in Haiti once or twice already to bring order there? People are weary outside of Haiti and hope they can find their own solution. In regards Aristide is useless to anyone these days.
