I was wondering if theres a way to select specific topics, like the science and medical ones, and filter them by recent activity, similar to the recent activity option for all the topics that is already present. Thanks in advance for any help i get.

Yes you can subscribe to various Forums by going to your "Members Centre" then click the tab on the left; "Manage Subscriptions". After you have done that you can view the forums you have picked by using the "my ATS"
