Jacque Chirac Bans Religious Items In Schools

Anyone got any thoughts behind these motives?? It's suprising since France took the side of the terrorists by refusing to go to war with the US, lol.

This has been in the pipeline for sometime now although i it was only a ban on headscarfs.

There is another thread about this. Don't be confused about the french perspective, they make laws to benifit themselves. It doesn't translate to the international level, just in their own area. I mean, Christ, Amuk and I could take France, but nobody has offered us enough money yet.

I can't see the Catholics being very happy about this. Looks like Chirac will end up excommunicated.
