I need HELP...someones harrassing me online..

hi all....soo long story... but here goes.. LAST year some person on myspace wrote me and in the message was a TOPLESS PIC OF....MYSELF! i was in shock. that picture was taken when i was 15 years old and im 23 now (i was a wild child) anyway i knew in high school the pic was online but the whole situation died off in a month (u know high school kids..) anyway this person proceeding to send it to people on my friends list. which included the guy i was kinda involved with and it was really embarassing to receive an e mail from my crush saying he got a topless pic of me from a random person.

so yesterday this person decides to write to me after a year.. this persons myspace is private and fake, the pic is of some 1950s mugshot. and this person is going by the name "lance" before he or she went by the name "gooch" i called the police and they gave me the internet crimes number..she said something about since i was 15 years old in the pic it could be considered child porn. i left a message for the detective and i hope he calls back if not im going to keep calling
this just really angers me ..what is the point to this? and im trying to get a job in law enforcement at the moment and im scared the pic will end up in the wrong hands or something you know? ughh

i was wondering if anyone here knows how to track IP addresses?? or if anyone knows how i can possibly find out who he or she is??? thanks

You should contact MySpace and let them know what's going on. Maybe they can provide the IP address.

The FBI has a cybercrime department here. Don't let this go. Keep bothering the police. A creep like this deserves to be caught and arrested because that's a serious invasion of your privacy. I hope the "child porn" angle fits -- the FBI will be able to tell you about that.

So this creep took a pic of you, like through your bedroom window?

That's also a crime - peeping tom I think.

Why do these guys do this stuff. I think it's a brain/neuronal problem, iirc the recent news items.

nah he didn't take the actual pic.
see in high school i was quite the "wild one" and my friends and i were dumb haha a pic was taken of me when i as in my room with my friend joking around i completely forget how it ended up online but it was 8 years ago. and its crazy how it resurfaced..its just weird like dude just reveal yourself. i spoke to an internet crimes sgt, and i guess i have a case tomorrow a detective of his is going to contact me and stuff. he said they can track the IP address from myspace and stuff woo hoo im curious to know who it is..and yeah i dont get why this person is doing this..sooo lame

You can actually report this to the police.

This type of thing is treated very seriously, so sure contact myspace but I would report this to the police also.

Can i ask you a question? what are you going to do if they catch someone that you know? (like a past bestfriend)

i will prosecute... i JUST now got a message...from the guy..with a link to a craigslist ad which has the pic and this whole fake thing being me saying im bisexual and looking for fun and crap and i gues he knows my number he left me a myspace message with it saying it would be nice to post it on the ad..

what a creep i called the detective but no answer but will call first thing and i printed everything out jsut incase he deletes it oh man i cant believe it got to this level

Ohh that's bad, But you know what the more crap like this he is doing the more he is getting himself deeper and deeper, Its not going to look good on him,

I suggest you from now Do not communicate with him at all, do not reply to anything even just to tell him where to go,

Log everything and keep a printed copy, including links ect,
Also any phone calls, ect dates ect,
