Home worth over 300,000 aussie dollars bought at Auction online for less then 100.00dollars!

Hi/

Im in Melbourne Australia and just watched a current affairs program on buying a home for next to nothing.
The guy that won the 'lowest bid' was unamed,and from Western Australia,
Apperantly the person who bids the lowest wins!
This guy was aged between 18 and 30 years old.
He bought a home worth over 300,000 Australian dollars for less then 100.00 dollars.
I wasn't paying that much attention to the program but was interested to see if anyone here on BTS watched the show or has in fact won at a bidding online.
I mean, who gets to buy a house for that amount of money today?
Thought I would like to share and your thoughts.
