First look inside Guantanamo Base Camp Delta

US Dept of Defense has just released the first footage of what the inside of the Guantanamo Base looks like. It shows prisoners being given books, tioletries and food. And depicts prisoners praying.

seems that the video release was planned for today. Perhaps in order to dispell rumors of mistreatment of prisoners at Gitmo.

also heard something like there are 182 Saudi Arabians,
84 Pakistani's, 82 Afghanistani's, and the rest of the prison population comprises of Egyptians, Syrians and Lebanese and others.

not 100% sure of my numbers, so please don't quote me on them.

It's a public relations video, i'm pretty sure i believe the photojournalists using their telephoto lenses to get sneaky pictures of the inside of the camp.

You know, orange jumpsuits, black baggings and nothing but dirt and a small roof for shelter?

actually in the video, some of these prisoners are wearing traditional white islamic clothes, not the orange jumpsuits.

you can also hear them praying in arabic too, and one using prayer beads.

German tv stations aired several documentations with detailed videos already month before. Really first footage from Guantanomo for US people? Can't imagine it's here before at yours.

I can see it now: A group of 12 innocent civilians are sent to Gitmo Bay instead of the holiday on the beach they were promised in Cuba.

See who can last the longest for the only ticket home!

My favorite is the DO NOT FEED sign, you will know when you see it. Although not the most reveiling of photos, certainly not of any prisoners.

those are great images Advisor, but the video I speak of, was released by the Dept of Defense today, it show the inside and bits of daily life of guantanamo. I still can't find a link for it on the defense site.

Have you seen this video, provided bbc, I'm sure it is the most recent. The iguana's are great, mascotts.

I did see that one before, and it's not the one I am speaking of. great images though.

the newest shows the facilities they recently built, not the cages, it's the 8/10 cells, everything looks stark white in it.

they showed in on FOX News today, but I can't find it on their site.

Both those places are terrible IMHO. Many people there have been waiting for over a year with no trial and yet they are held there on terrorism charges. I watched a documentary which tracked an afghan taxi cab driver who was pulled out of the street and sent to guantanamo base and held for a year and he was innocent. Damn 'war on terror'.
