Please UK members on the East coast be careful of the next 48 hours with this Big storm serge.

Brown has called in a Cobra meeting, All those outside be aware that there maybe risks of tornadoes,.

The Dartford Creek and Thames barriers are set to be closed at 2000 GMT.

The flood alerts are a response to weather and tide patterns being tracked this week by the Environment Agency and the Met Office.

I guess I'm having a thick-headed moment, but I can't find where it states WHY these surges are about to happen. Does this happen as seasonal phenomenon in the North Sea or is this some type of weird thing that has been caused by landslide, earthquake, avalanche...etc.?

Yep this is the highest level since 1953, And they are stating this is a serious threat to life,

There raising the Thames barrier to protect us here in London,

Some places are being evacuated,
