Proposed UN Resolution Would Effectively Ban Religion
A draft resolution which aims to secure global peace and stability at
the expense of organized religion is today being submitted to the United
Nations in New York.

A draft resolution which aims to
secure global peace and stability at the expense of organized religion is
today being submitted to the United Nations in New York.
Freedom from Religion | Proposed UN Resolution / Charter Amendment |
Version 1.1

WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS HEREBY VOW

* to save succeeding generations from the scourge of organized religion,
a folly which has brought untold sorrow to mankind through the division,
hatred and conflict it engenders, and

* to reaffirm an individual's right to freedom of belief, freedom of
conscience and freedom of prayer, and

* to establish conditions under which these freedoms can be privately
exercised.

AND FOR THESE ENDS WE UNDERTAKE

1. To outlaw, with immediate effect, the public expression of religious
beliefs, including the use of symbols, clothing or markings which are
synonymous with any currently or previously existing religions.

2. To outlaw, with immediate effect, public acts of worship or religious
declaration.

3. To outlaw, with immediate effect, private gatherings of three or more
people for the purposes of engaging in acts of worship or religious
services.

4. To outlaw, with immediate effect, the publication of books, literature
or articles which seek to promote religious beliefs or encourage
adherence to religious doctrine.

5. To outlaw, after a period of amnesty, the personal ownership of books
or materials which seek to promote religious beliefs or encourage
adherence to religious doctrine. (Books of academic or social interest
will be made freely available to schools, universities and public
libraries).

6. To outlaw, with immediate effect, the celebration of religiously
significant dates.

7. To begin, with immediate effect, the destruction or reassignment of
predominantly religious buildings, such as churches, mosques and temples

The originator of the proposal said, "Unfortunately, I suspect it will require an act of religious terrorism that kills millions before they'd consider using it. "

too drastic to be real. Not a real world policy, it would never come to fruition if it is real.

yes thats ridiculous...even if it is real do you think the US is going to listen to the UN?....HA! hardly...they are a
bunch of impotent blowhards...they might as well try to take my guns (it will be hard to grab with the action cycling at 750 rpm)

I thnk if something really bad happens on February 2, 2004 then the leaders of the world will take a closer look at this new UN proposal.

First of all I don't think it is real,

Second it would never be approved in our life time,

Thirdly, even if it becomes approved it can't be regulated.

I don't much for the religions, but this is taking away our free will. I will never submit to these laws and I'm with more than 95% of world's population in saying that.

So guys who want this to happen or thinking that this is going to happen anytime soon, dream on.

Hmm.... sounds like a bad idea to me.

Religious extremists will fight this, terrorisim will be on the rise. This is only asking for holly wars from every religion in the world

I'm not a hardcore religious type but I'd fight it, its a violation of people's freedom. If they have a problem with religion, there's no one forcing it on them, its up to people to chose for themselves and its not the UN's place ( or anyone's for that matter) to take away people's freedom to religion.

"For God put it into their hearts (leaders of the world) to carry out his thought, even to carry out their one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast(UN), until the words of God have been accomplished."

Links would be advised.

Im starting to see a "anti-religion" trend apearing often.
Organized relgions needs to be abolished, well some certain organized religions to be exact.

Im in accordance with most Philosphies, but organized religions needs to be contained and controled.

Hmm, lets see:

The UN wants to tax us "UN Tax".
The UN has a world "obesity plan"..Tax on "unhealthy foods".
The UN wants our land.
The UN wanted to have control of the internet.
The UN wants to control "family planning".

Much more.....Yeah, I can believe it. They want to promote their own "brand" of religion.

Hmm i believe it. I mean its fortold in the bible. Pretty scary and the crazy thing is that i can actually see them passing it. Just how crazy they are lately I can see them doin this especially after lets say a nuclear blast brought on by religous extremist. Hmmm the Bible is happening right before our eyes how foolish it is of anyone not too see this.

Also if this thing is approved im soo glad GWB is pres. I mean even if you dont support him and you are alil religous you can see the ass kickin he will give to the UN if they approve and especially if they try to enforce this. GWB would ahve a field day

I fully believe that this is legit and part of the plan.

Look at all the posters here that say that all of man's problems are due to religion? Many people believe that here, must be teaching that in the schools or is it on MTV?
