Jesus followed no religion. He was a radical in his day.

It always seemed to me that Jesus was more like a cult leader. The way he gathered followers is much like the way cults start nowadays.

All religions were cults when they first started.

A cult by definition is an alternative new religion that has a minority of followers.

Judaism was a cult, it was radically different from the pagans that were so common then, that is how it was started. To oppose the pagans and be different, hence a lot of the rules of it (and Abrahamic religions in general) contrast; no idolatry, etc etc.

Christianity was a cult when it started, as you pointed out, and so was Islam.

But now they can hardly be called cults anymore as they are established religions that are familiar.

The word cult has a rather negative stigma to it; it should simply be taken as neutral.

...Christianity to myself is not a religion, it is being.

For myself, there is the way and there is the false.
Only two things exist. The path of life and the path of death.
Jesus was not here to create a religion, he came to tell the truth.
To one outside of a faith... that faith is religion... to the believer, it is what is.

Its rare that I read anything that characterises my thoughts in terms of Christianity or Faith. Thank you for sharing that.

Love of the Father, and Love one another. All Laws are fullfilled by honoring this command. It is indeed being.

It is in this being that war can end. Hate can end and suffering that is perpetuated by mankind upon each other.

If God is with you...who can be against you
