War is Peace:

In 1984 the enemy swiches from eurasia and eastasia and the alegance with the new enemy forgoten and the war with the new ally eraced (our situation is slightly more complex) in the "cold war" (called that despite the slaghter by the USA [United Stases of America] and The USSR [United Sovet Socalist Republics] casing over 2milion deths in the #rys sorunding the ussr and in latin america) the WWII alegance betwene the usa and the ussr forgoten the after the cold war russia is ally with us but unlike 1984 the war is not forgoten (during the cold war america gave power to the teliban in afganistan and sadam in iraq to "protect" them from comunist rule) the midle east was a very strong ally during the cold war but thay are now the enemy.

"it does not mater if the war is not real or wether it is, victory is not possible the. war is not ment to be won it is ment to be continus, the hierarchy of human sosiety is only posible on the bacis of poverty and ignorance, the war is waged betwen the ruleing group agent its own subjects and its victory is not over eurasia or eastasia but to keep the very structure of socity intact" -Gorge orwell

Freedom is Slavory:

Not quite as strong as orwells vision but there are things such as CCTV and the patreot act that are implemented in the so-called land of the free

Ignorance is Strengh:

No example to give at the moment

this may sound like a badly spellt rant but think about it this is hapening today

I agree as well, but many people only care about current events and the latest shock value revelation. The idea of neo-conservatism isn't new and wasn't new when Orwell wrote his book. He was just wise enough to understand the motives behind it and the route in which it must take.

Orwell lived during a period when modern propaganda was being invented. It's techniques must have seemed very obvious to people who grew up in the nineteenth century, just as the pathetic ploys of modern television are obvious to people who grew up in the 20th century. It's important to notice that people have been lying shamelessly to the gullible since the beginning. They are getting better at it, though. Television is better left unwatched.

I live in Canada, which is a Nanny State. Nannyism has completely taken over, where politics used to be based on social divisions of sorts. Now everyone has become a special interest group trying to get closer to Nanny's tits. We are Nannied to death in this country. When you have a Nanny state like Canada, your citizens become Ninnies, stupid, stupid Ninnies, incapable of independant thought or of forming a national consensus.

I think all modern states are basically the same. Their propaganda modalities are the same and they are just more or less benevolent.
