Australia to sell uranium to India

Australia may sell uranium to India if the federal cabinet approves a submission from Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer.

The move would allow the deal despite India not being a signatory to the international Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty

with Australia having approx 40% of the worlds uranium and having already been selling to china for a number of years it seems we are about to start selling to India aswell.

Apparently they will be putting similar agreements in place so that the uranium can only be sold for peaceful purposes like india's nuclear energy programs and not for nuclear weapons programs.
