well well well.....iraq could hit the u.s. from overseas...amazing..why didnt he use his "weapons of mass destruction" when the war started?

"Sen. Bill Nelson said Monday the Bush administration last year told him and other senators that Iraq not only had weapons of mass destruction, but they had the means to deliver them to East Coast cities. Nelson, D-Tallahassee, said about 75 senators got that news during a classified briefing before last October's congressional vote authorizing the use of force to remove Saddam Hussein from power... Nelson said the senators were told Iraq had both biological and chemical weapons, notably anthrax, and it could deliver them to cities along the Eastern seaboard via unmanned aerial vehicles."

This whole war is about as big of a joke as bush himself is...You dont hear about this much during his speaches do you?

Wow, that's news to me. [sarcasm]I guess if the WMD are in fact imaginary WMD, then they should be able to hit AT LEAST the East coast[/sarcasm]

Good article, I hadn't read that one before.

"We're concerned that Iraq is exploring ways of using these UAVs for missions targeting the United States," the president said.

Great they have taught camels to fly...it can't be a very successful mission. After all, camels are still in prototype stage.

Yeah, you guys are a riot.
It's still a possibility that the weapons could be used against the east coast, or west coast or the midwest - as they might be enroute now, or may already be in country, but the the opportunity hasn't been found by the cell.
Or, it could be that they were already discovered and stopped, but the government did not publicize it because they thought we aren't old enough for the truth.
Or, maybe George got Iraq mixed up with another country!

that's BS, because Iraq never had the range to accomplish this task, even when the US Dept of Defense was supplying Saddam against Iran. If they were still en route, they would have been intercepted by a variety of earth monitoring satellites unless they had cloaking devices. come on, now. and there is no way that any kind of renegade cell in the US has possession of chemical warheads because Big Brother... i mean fatherland... dammit... HOMELAND SECURITY (there!) has no ifs ands or buts about warheads not being in proper storage facilities.

Or, it could be that they were already discovered and stopped, but the government did not publicize it because they thought we aren't old enough for the truth.

they're tempted to use that one like the old "now you see WMD now you don't" trick where you plant a few USAF surplus warheads under an old presidential palace in Tikrit. if they said they hit a few, that means that not only is the SDI missle defense program a public success, that also Bush's administration is loaded with geniuses. Fortunately, neither applies in reality.

Or, maybe George got Iraq mixed up with another country!

FINALLY, some sincerity and truth!

you guys are the best

Report says Iraq didn't have WMD
Author: Political pressure influenced intelligence before war
Thursday, January 8, 2004 Posted: 12:52 PM EST (1752 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Iraq had ended its weapons of mass destruction programs by the mid-1990s and did not pose an immediate threat to the United States before the war, according to a report released Thursday.

Bush administration officials likely pushed U.S. intelligence assessors to conform with its view the country posed an impending danger, said one of the authors of the study.
