I was surpised at this "mockery" of Nancy Drew. I don't know, maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I grew up reading the original Nancy Drew books (gee, they actually had hard covers back then). In those books she was a well-dressed, intelligent young woman. Not the dippy little teen they portray in the movie.

Yeah, I'm a total Nancy Drew Fanboi and I'm insulted by the stupidness of this new movie. Back in my day, when Nancy Drew was real, we had stories that really touched the minds and hearts of early teens.

I mean with stories like:
Nancy Drew and the case of the Lost Virginity
Nancy Drew and the case of the Back Ally Abortion
and the third in this particular trilogy
Nancy Drew and the High School Prom gone Wrong

I don't see how they think their silly movie is going to match this type of fantastic writing.

Some more of my favorite titles:

Nancy Drew and the Bulimic Belle
Nancy Drew and the case of the Dysmorphic Mirror
and
Nancy Drew is Anorexic

You know, stuff that really spoke to the teenage girls of the day.
