UN Troops Traded Guns For Gold, According to New Report.

Scandal is engulfing the United Nations once again after allegations that peacekeepers stationed in Congo traded guns for gold with militia groups that they were meant to be disarming. Meanwhile, a trial got under way in New York of a former UN official accused of taking bribes.

Apparently Pakistani soldiers who were sent to restore peace in the area have been accepting gold for weapons. One Congolese officer saw as militias were disarmed one day to then be returned the same guns the next day in exchange for gold.

This latest scandal adds to the list of UN soldiers which have raped women and misused their powers in regions they were supposed to bring peace to.

Jesus man, we are going to have to start stations imbedded journalists into the UN peacekeeping operations if we are going to try and stop this as it happens. Either that, or severly fine their government of origin and bar them from future peacekeeping operation for a duration of time.
