I am so sick and tired of people who know nothing about metals, and seem to think that the only way a steel structure can fall due to flame, is if it
reaches the melting point of said steel.
It doesnt have to. Steel becomes VERY pliable at high temperatures, well below its melting point.
How the hell do you think people shape steel? We sure as hell don't melt it down and get a new mould every time, we simply heat it up, then bend it
into whatever shape we want.
With hundreds of tonnes of weight on top of these steel structures, it doesnt take a genius to realise that the steel will fold at high temperatures.
