Atlantis under the ice

I've been meaning to post this for a while so it might already be done but here goes:

Some scientists, historians, treasure seakers and others have long thought the city of Atlantis may be under the antartic ice. As in the past particuarly the antartic was habitable land (dinosaurs roamed free etc)

Global warming is known to melt the polar ice caps, green house gasses etc.

Could there therefore be some connection between goverments (particuarly the US) refusing to cut down emmisions in the hope that the ice melts and some ancient civilisation could be discovered?

Particuarly consider the desperation of other goverments to stop global warming, coupled with the long term locating of an american survay team at antartica.

Its a tenuous connection i'll grant you and of course you could come back and say why not just send a mining team in etc?

but I wonder if there might be something there, at the very least if the caps to melt it'll be interessting to see whether there ever was a civiisation at antartica.

any thoughts?
