Saw a meteor last night...

Last night, or I should say, this morning around 3:00 a.m., I saw a meteor falling to earth. It was approximately 3 football fields away from the traffic light I was standing under. The area where it fell is populated with business offices, hotels and lots of trees. I would have gone to check it out, but I knew there was almost no chance of finding where exactly it fell.

I was wondering, how big you guys think it could have been? It was around three football fields away from me, but it was the size of a golf ball from maybe 5-6 feet away. At first I thought it was maybe fireworks or even a flare gun, but I'm pretty sure it was a meteor.

Anyway, it was definitely a cool experience because it's the first time I've seen one falling to earth from that close of a distance. I have seen meteor showers (we had one about a week ago), but this is on a whole different level because it's not everyday you see something like this.
