Are New Smileys Ever Included?

I ask because my friend has this one on her site, and it followed me home, and it's just so cute, I want to keep it.



Can I Mom? Dad? Can I keep it? It looks so lonely.

Not sure if they do...


I've been trying to get them to include this smily...

You can use any smileys that you want.
Just upload the gif image to your ATS upload space, and then link it into the thread the same way you link a picture.

I use a lot of different ones, and emoticons don't take up much space in your upload area.

True, I've already got that little guy in my Photobucket account, so I could hotlink from there I guess.

I guess I'm just not used to a forum that doesn't have bandwidth issues. My previous experience has been with either hobbyist sites or "trash" forums.

Honestly, I think one of the key reasons that we do not have lots of
emoticons, or even the current ones updated, is because ATS is meant
for serious discussion, and while the occasional emoticon can add
something to a post, overall using more than two in a post, or using them
in lots of posts is very unprofessional, and lowers the quality of the site.


I generally only ever use emoticons on BTS, and that's only about 35%
of the time.

Ohhh, smilies!!! They're so much fun!!! I have gone to many websites looking for cute ones and have hundreds of them saved on my own computer.

They're fun to have, and as long as they're small, i would think its ok to go ahead and use them.

I just snag them when I see them.
You can right click any emoticon and save it as a gif file.

Upload the files to your ATS upload space for quick reference.
(the files are tiny, but you may need to spend a few points)

Link the files to a folder in your bookmarks, or favorites for easy access.




Is there any reason we can't share emoticons

I never delete the ones I put on the ATS server, so why not just use each others links for a collection of them.

If we get a collection of links together that are permanently in your ATS Upload Space, we could all share.
I'd be willing to post all of my uploaded smileys for everyone to use, but I wouldn't want members to post anything hosted off-site. All of those tend to disappear over time.:shk:


This way we all get more emoticons to use, it won't take much server space for ATS, and it's all kept in-house.
