CNN/ Cooper blog
Symington was governor at the time, and not only did he never publicly mention that he saw it, but there are many who feel he ridiculed those who did.

This borders on criminal, if he truly had the sighting experience, he claims.("other worldly")
He's supposed to represent the interests of his constituency, not mock them.

Symington told the filmmakers that he did indeed see the UFO but said nothing publicly, in part, because he didn't want to scare Arizonans.
So instead he mocks them and insults their intelligence, with a fake news conference.

Symington said he did privately try to have people investigate the sightings, but got nowhere.

He was in a position to demand an official explanation.
Why would he relinquish the 'high ground' and try to investigate privately,
rather than bring all his political clout, to bare?

This has been covered before, right here on ATS.

edit: The news when it came out, not the CNN Anderson Cooper piece.
