In the United States, there shouldn't be any persecution of any religion. In other parts of the World, it happens and there is nothing you can do about it.

But, here...

I've seen reports of people not being able to display the manger scene on their own property. Not Government property, mind you. This is their own, private property. Our Constitution was written to protect American Citizens from such oppresion.

And, don't start with the "Seperation of Church and State" bullcrap. That won't fly here, for these reasons:

  1. This is an attack on Christianity, not any other Religion.
  2. This isn't Government sponsored displays. They are private.
  3. Seperation of Church and State doesn't exist in the Constitution. It states that Congress shall make no law establishing a Religion.

This is sickening, and if somebody doesn't stand up to the Liberal Left, it will continue. They want to turn this Great Country of ours into a Communist Dictatorship. They do it little by little, with innocent looking gestures that they are getting rid of "intolerance". That's pure, unadulterated bullcrap. If anyone is being "intolerant", they are.

NOBODY including christians should be persecuted because of there beliefs.

The only exception to this should be those that cause REAL harm with there beliefs and by that I mean like human sacrfice or child abuse etc not just because they offend someone else.

You mean like when religious people burned people at the stake just for studying "forbidden" subjects, or being different? They were horrible people, who committed various horrible executions in the name of their god. Today, no one is executed, luckily, but their persecution continues. They have their own groups in society. They treat everyone else as outsiders. Nothing has changed, besides the fact that the law doesn't allow religious executions anymore.

So just because a group of Christians acted that way a few centuries ago I can't display a nativity scene on my front lawn? Why does someone who peacefully practices his or her religion deserve to be persecuted? Its considered free speech to burn the flag but let me put a baby Jesus in my front lawn and that's a no-no. Christians are being punished for being the majority just as any other majority is the US is today. We are on a slide toward socialism because everything has to be fair.

This is just the same as the slave issue. Since 150 years ago some white people had slaves all people of white color are considered to be oppressors. If we all stay in the past then we will never grow as a world. It just sucks to be a majority.

Xians never stopped persecuting people. They just aren't allowed to kill anymore. The very nature of xianity is an exclusive social club. It requires that you agree with them 100%, otherwise you just don't fit in. As I've already said, they don't even realize they do it. I can't tell you how many times I've found myself alienated by a room full of xians who suddenly decided that everyone in their presence must be like them...so they hold hands and pray, while I stand there. I stopped closing my eyes and pretending to pray with them a long time ago. It's irritating and rude, IMO. Xians just don't even realize how many people they do that sort of thing to, constantly. The reason you don't realize, is because you're so used to being around your own social club, that you forget how to act any other way. You forget that people that don't belong to your little club might not be a member of any club that even has similar beliefs. Then you want to make a big fuss when someone tries to point this out to you? It sure as hell isn't about your stupid baby Jesus manger mock-up on the front lawn.
I could care less about that. Although, in the south, it becomes a bit more apparent that you're outnumbered by the religious folks. If allowed, they'd all have nativity scenes in their yards year round. If allowed, they'd form xian only neighborhoods. Some do, actually, since religion is more tolerated in the bible belt. Some people are just pathetically dependent on god, and it does wear thin on those who think they're all insane.

Why do Christians persecute those that don't follow their religion?

I have seen no persecution of Christianity. I have seen many persecuted and said of not having a belief in God if they do not follow Christianity.

However, Christianity these days is hardly what Jesus spoke of. He is appalled at what it has become. It is becoming farther and farther from the truth that Jesus spoke.

One day when all of us have left our physical presence many "Christians" will be appalled at who has elevated themselves onto the higher plain, and who will be working again to figure it all out.

Ok. Ya. Christians get discriminated against...but...so does every other religion. It's been like that since the form of civilizations. I've found that where I live I get discriminated for my religion more than anyone else by where I live. I've been asked if I sacrifice cats, if I ride a broomstick, and if I can make my books levitate. I understand that Christians get discriminated against...but they seem to discriminate against other religions more than people discriminating against them...

Namaste and Blessed Be.

If the owners of the property have to follow some code for their yard like my neighborhood then they should not complain.

This crap about liberals hating Christianity is bull#. I had a teacher last year who was very religious and was a big time liberal. Of course if you don't think Christianity should be taught in all the schools you are somehow anti-Christian.

If there is such a thing as a law of karma then I can see it
working in this case.
Christians in the past have persecuted pagans and those
of other faiths.
So naturally they are getting back what they have given
out.
I have very little sympathy for the persecuted christians
who in some cases if not most, have brought this on themselves.

What should the poor christians do ?
What they have been taught to do by their own faith
which they have not followed too faithfully.
That is to simply turn the other cheek and let themselves
be slapped.
Then afterwards love and forgive their enemies.
Bless all those who try to do them harm.
A little bit of humiliation might be good for their souls.
Some of them definitely need it.

It's a Control issue that's been fed to the Church for centuries. Telling someone that their Mother just died unsaved and is now burning in hell says a lot about what they're preaching and to me, thats not only incensitive but it's completely Vile. If they can't control others thru their Religion they damn you to the eternal flames of and endless hell created by a God without Mercy.

People do suck. I find that most just don't have the mental capacity to think about the many ways they affect others. Either that, or they just don't care? Then there's always the percentage that just appear to enjoy being cruel.

Of course if you don't think Christianity should be taught in all the schools you are somehow anti-Christian.

Who said that Christianity should be taught in school?

Anyway, I am a Christian. I don't however, believe that our Constitution should be violated in favor of letting Christianity be set up as a State Promoted Religion. It states that no law should make any one Religion the "official" Religion of this Country.

Christians, Muslims, Atheists, Agnostics should all feel free to worship/not worship anyone or anything they want to... especially on their own property. That's another freedom that Liberal Leftists like to conveniently forget.

Right or Left... this is still the United States of America, and we still have the Rights and Freedoms that were given to us by the Founding Fathers of this Great Nation.

Now, to address the "Tit for Tat" argument of Christianity deserving this for all of the persecution they handed out in the past... well... I believe it was wrong for the Crusaders to invade the Middle East and try to "convert" the people to Christianity/Catholicism. But, you are comparing Apples and Oranges here. Christians aren't receiving their "just desserts" in this situation. This isn't a Crusade to convert Christians to whatever religion. This is a violation of our Constitutional Rights in a Free Country by our own Government.

Big Difference.
