I got that album on vinyl when it was released. It was just after the russians had shot down a Korean jumbo, so everyone knew what that song was about. Murder in the skies, empty rooms and the title track (victims of the future) was my favorites from that album. I haven't heard it in a while.

Well I skimmed over 30+ pages and didn't find this listed anywhere.

"Sausalito Summernight"

It was a 1981 U.S. Top 40 hit by Nederpop band Diesel. In other countries, the track is known as "Sausolito Summernight", as a result of a misspelling on the Netherlands releases of the single and the album.

Every time I hear this tune my foot involuntarily starts tapping to the beat. Always thought this tune had a great hook to it.

The song is from '81. The video is from '82. I was already a Police fan when Ghost In The Machine was released, and it was an instant favorite. Great album! I've just heard a remaster of Invisible Sun from 2003. Remasters don't always work, and in this case it didn't. I prefer the original version. This one:
