George W Bush could go through an endless amount of times where he resigns then chaney comes president. Then at the end of Dick Chaney's terms, he resigns and Bush becomes president and then vice-versa. The process could go on endlessly and they would eliminate those that don't bow before them. Think about it. A dictator bush is very possible, and the infamous legacy of the bush administration could continue forever.

It's possible.

I think if somehow Bush managed to remain President after this term by some extraordinary means, then either the military will remove him from power, or if top brass are in on it, they will support it fully.

Scary to say what will happen. You are right, anything can happen.

Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction. It still amazes me that only two family affiliations have held the top executive political office in the US since papa Bush. There is something wrong with that IMO.

It is not possible.

If Bush resigned, Cheney would then become President. Cheney would then have to appoint a new VP, but Bush would be ineligible since he's already been elected President twice. Plus whoever is chosen would have to be confirmed by both houses of Congress before becoming VP.

Cheney would then have to be reelected in 2008 to continue in the presidency.

That's not true. That would happen with normal government but they could attack our population by implementing another 9-11 to affect our foreign policy, thus by doing that they would put our country into martial law, thus suspending the constitution and the stalling the elections permentantly to a TBA date. That being said, they could do this and let the infamous legacy of the Bush administration continue forever.

This scenario, posed by others on this site as well, is not likely.

Congress and the Senate have to approve all spending. They would simply cut all spending on the military. How many soldiers would show up for work to enforce martial law if they were not receiving a paycheck?

If this happened, why would they even bother switching positions then?

It wouldn't matter under martial law. With Martial Law in place in our country either position could be in power as long as they wanted, then they could set up a fully operational shadow government to "lead" the nation out of the chaos. So they will do this so they can fully operate the shadow government. There is evidence that secret meetings have been taking place behind closed doors that involve some shadowy conpsiracy that may be revealed soon.
