Whiners and wimps! I can't stand them any more!

I have had it with weak little wimps. The type that have to have everything just so or they can't cope. I seem to be surrounded by people who both pride themselves on their incredible physical power and strength of spirit, and also whine... a lot.

[whiney voice on] I can only drink Lipton tea, other brands aren't any good. Why didn't you buy Lipton? I guess I'll just have to do without tea until you get the right brand. I'll just set here and dehydrate, don't mind me.

I can't eat generic canned green beans. I'll only eat name brand. The others aren't good enough.

I can't stand that song, if I ever hear it again I'll just die.

I can't go shopping, I don't have a good CD to listen to on the way. I can't drive around without my music.

Salted butter! I only use unsalted! I can't eat that.[whiney voice off]

It seems that the people around me act so tough and so strong, but they can be completely defeated by a can of generic green beans. What's with people? Grow up, grit your teeth, and make do.

You will not die if a certain song is played. You will not expire without a custom burned CD. A yellow onion used in place of a white one will not tear apart the fabric of the universe.

GET OVER IT! Because I swear that the very next time some big, tough, take-over-the-world warrior type whines to me that they can only drink one brand of tea and their whole day is ruined because I bought the wrong one I promise that I am going to use that salted butter on him/her as a lubricant and shove a box of tea bags where the sun doesn't shine.

Whew! That's better.

I just hate to see 0 replies so I thought I would respond by saying when someone starts to whine or complain get up and walk away or better yet, tell them to STFU. There are too many whiners and complainers so either get used to it or express your disdain for their petty attitudes.

Are these other people or are these other people a significant other?

Actually, it's hard to walk away from because (Lys is right) my significant other is one of the whiners. We are in the process of breaking up, so I won't have to hear her complaining much longer.

I have also known so many other to whom this applies. My in-laws are great at it and I have had a number of friends who do the same.

Now I am certainly no ultra-tough type, far from it. I just refuse to let one small detail ruin my whole day. Innovate. Make do. Improvise. Be resourceful for goodness sakes!

Thanks for the responses, I had just had a belly-full of pessimistic, habitual complainers and had to vent a bit.

We need to thank the universe for what we've got.

Amen Selmer!

I am thankful for whatever I have, it doesn't have to be the finest thing made. Just having my needs met is enough. I just don't understand the high maintenance types.

Your post reminds me that not only can I make do with what I have, but what I have is far better than some people will ever see.

My spouse complained that she couldn't relax in the tub without a particular type of bubble bath. I actually thought to myself that just having an entire tub of clean, drinkable water would be an absolute miracle to some people. Some folks in the world won't see that much clean water in an entire month, maybe longer. I look at the situation as a blessing, my spouse thought herself cursed.

It really is more than just being a useless, whining, wimp. It's being ungrateful, unappreciative, wasteful, and shortsighted.

My advice is get into MMA, its the hardest sport out there and you can take out all the frustrations of your personal life and training out on a guy by punching him, kicking him, or submitting him.

I really don't think that would work for me. I will defend myself if necessary, but I am not much of a fighter.

I'll be single soon and so it will be easier. Yesterday she refused to eat because we were out of cracked wheat buns. Regular bread wasn't good enough. I wanted to fight then!

I suppose it's an unfortunate aspect of human nature. We don't operate on a spectrum from unhappy to happy. There are coping mechanisms for people that have nothing, and people who have everything get used to it and it doesn't matter to them anymore. It seems like someone who has everything can be less happy than someone who has nothing at all for the smallest reason. Maybe people who whine all the time about small things have bigger problems, and this is how it's manifesting itself.

I never try to let those kind of things get to me. I work at Starbucks, though, so I'm sort of a specialist in small things pissing people off. "This was supposed to have seven pumps of vanilla. It doesn't taste like seven." Give me a break...

I think you are really on to something there Herman. Looking at the situation again, I would say that you nailed it.

Believe me, I wanted to - and that would solve her problems, both big and small!

....and that would solve my problems!

I couldn't do it though, I'm just not the violent type - and we live on the first floor.

To quote Chris Rock

"I'm not saying OJ shoulda killed the bitch but I understand."

I agree with you. At my office I ordered paper microwavable plates for the employees.
I ordered 8.5 inch plates. I got yelled at by an executive because quote "How am I going to put food on a plate that small, thanks now I can't have lunch anymore untile you order bigger plates." THe bitch is about 250lbs and 5'9".

So if your soon to be Ex finds herself flying out of a second story window. I'll understand.

Whiny co workers

Boss that treats me like a servant/doormat :bash:

no wait

and one more of these for good measure :bash:

Well, at least if there is a sadistic side to your personality, it can revel in the fact that she won't be able to survive without you.

Sounds like a woman I used to date. I 'got her' right after she moved from home for the first time... her parents - nice, well-meaning folks - had always done everything for her. She just couldn't cope with the idiosyncrasies of life, like not everything being identical to what she might be used to.

Okay, I am ranting all over again!

The last unappreciative, narrow-minded, egotistical, whiney person in my life now is my spouse. She has made a mess of my life for years now and yesterday was really the last straw. She almost ruined my son's birthday party. The little guy cried himself to sleep on his own birthday!

She throws the cat around and says my dog should be euthanized (there's nothing wrong with him).

Everyday she tells me that I am stupid, or that I'm doing everything wrong, or that I'm just nuts.

She is obsessed with how she will look in public - as in, "I don't want to be associated with you or your son because you'll make me look bad."

We live where ever she wants to live, and she wants to move every six months.

I work where she wants me to work.

She prides herself on being angry, cold hearted, and intimidating.

She makes my son so nervous that he is starting to stutter.

This is supposed to be her last week in this house, and if she doesn't leave, I will. Without her I'll have little money and no transportation, and still, it is so very worth it!

If only there were a sadistic side to my personality, Hobbes. Sadism is her gig, not mine. She'll survive fine without me, she'll just have to find someone else on which to blame everything.
