Iraq attacks injure 33 U.S. troops, officials say

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Bombings at two U.S. bases in northern Iraq wounded at least 33 American soldiers Tuesday -- attacks that occurred less than three hours apart, U.S. military officials said.

www.cnn.com...

Will we ever bring our "boys" home ? How many has to die first ? Is this going to be another Vietnam ?

I am so tired of reading these headlines.

What will it take before they get home, another president in office ? and that's a long time away from happening...

I guess this is more of a rant, but how do you other Americans here feel about this ? You guys from other countries, how would you feel if it was your military taking these "hits"?

E-one,

As long as a Judeo-Christian country has a prescence in a fundamentalist, anti west country, you will have attacks. Sorry, but that is the truth. If it's not Saddam's troops, it's anti USA/West fundamentalist muslims looking to pad their afterlife with servants and virgins. It's part of their culture. If they weren't killing Americans, Brits and Europeans they were killing each other.

I think it is sad. We need to get them out of there. Families are losing sons and fathers and brothers and sisters and daughters and what are we doing? Nothing. It isn't worth the loss. These soldiers are giving up there lives for absolutely no reason other than they follow orders.

BRING THEM BACK!

Bush will never do it. It will be seen as a sign of weakness so our soldiers are stuck there until we vote Jackass out of office.

I didn't know Iraq was *fundalmentalist* before the war, I mean with all the women walking around unveiled, with make-up on and such.

All I know is they will never stop until we are audi 5000. Let them deal with their own problems, kill and steal from each other. We have our own problems right here that need to be addressed, like Homelessness, hungry children, roads falling apart, gang violence, the largest incarceration rate of the Western World, poverty, AIDS, drug abuse with no rehabilitation, and on and on and on.

That 82 billiion dollars approved for Iraq could fix the rotting Chicago Ghettos in no-time.

It won't end until Saddam gives up the recovered UFO.

Or we find the "WMD".

Couldn't have said it better myself Nath. Why are we concentrating so much on other countries when our own is falling apart around our ears? Let's fix our own issues before telling everyone else they are doing things wrong. Feed our children before we feed everyone elses, fix our cities before we fix everyone elses....see a pattern here?

Fix America First, Then Help Everyone Else. Thats my motto of the day.

Holy #....hold on to your seats.....

I agree with Fulcrum....

There, I said it...

However, though I'll agree we weren't wanted, (except maybe by the kids who were in jail, etc.)
I won't agree that we shouldn't have gone in.... However, the objective has pretty much been achieved... Now install a puppet Iraqi government, establish a few toehold bases...and get the hell out....

Actually I was making reference to Afghanistan and other fundamentalist nations that the US and the West has embassies and economic interests in.

My apologies for not being more specific.

True. But he's the one with the most power right now, no? Entire US army at his disposal.

Hmmm...well a bit different view. When this war started Americans pledged support. Overall, the American people were behind the war, and indeed looked to make a stand against terrorism. This included against ANY nation that harbored terrorists, or supported terrorist activities. A line in the sand was drawn. The United States had had enough of a bully punching kids (Kuwait), and had certainly had enough being punched in the face itself.

Now, nobody talks about it. Now, people forget why a stand was taken. As soon as that happened, the nay-sayer countries gained a power over the USA. Now they cry "foul". Now they cry not fair. The big mean USA. And the American people just stand around like sheep...oh the evil Bush. He made us do it. We like terrorists. We didn't mean to attack the bullies that pick on others...

What makes me sick are the American people for losing their resolve. Once people spit on soldiers from Vietnam. Now, the soldiers should spit on the people.

America is there for a f*cking reason. It's because nobody else in the world will stand up to terrorism. The British, Auzzies, Canadians, etc...they will not stand up on their own without help. The French? Yeah right. The Germans or any euopean country? Russians? Japan? China? Nope. Iraq or Bin Laden or any f*cking terrorist could walk into Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon...wherever they like. They could put civilians to death, make demands, do as they wish.

All the p*ssys of the world, unite in the pink underground bunker. Oh, the bad, bad USA. These complainers are the same people that would give up their lunch money at school. These are the same people who preach about the rules of fighting fair. These are the people that would run and hide in a corner while their neighbor gets mugged. When the police ask for witnesses, nope...nobody saw a thing.

Well, Bin Laden? Yeah, the USA went after him. Iraq? Did everyone forget that he invaded Kuwait for no reason but power and wealth. Who f*cking cared and liberated the whole country? Who gave a sh*t about the oppression of another country. Not the f*cking French (who is Iraq's biggest trading partner - gee, conspiracy?). Sure, oil was and is involved. They want to hold the world at ransom over it.

Sure, we stopped fighting Hussein. We gave him opportunities to prove he would not unleash mass destruction. He laughed in our faces. He laughed at the UN. He played games with inspectors for YEARS. Smiled in their face and gave them the finger at the same time. Not for weeks or months...but years. The response? Oh, give him more time. Don't bully him. Oh that is so wrong. Bad, bad. No, no...leave him be.

Well, you know what? F*ck him and every despot like him. He wants to just send his army out and take over the little guys. He wants to war with Iran for years and years. He wants to gas and use chemicals (remember Ali and his f*cking name?) against the Kurds because of their religion? He wants to bully and persecute others? The French are being bought off and the rest of the world can't or won't stand up to him?

Well, f*ck him. F*ck all who want "go easy" on that type of behavior. I am glad someone took a stand. I am glad someone cares. I am glad there is a world leader that does not think that is ok and has the balls to do something about it. He has the balls to hold his course and do what needs to be done, AND take everybodys #. You think it is easy? Right! Easy is doing it the French way.

You think Gore was the man? We would be still digging 9/11 graves and trying to beg, plead, and suck up to Bin Laden and countries that support these actions. People in the world that want to cause harm to others. Yeah, the bullies are due for an ass-kicking, and it's too bad that so many people want to just pay their lunch money and hope they leave them alone. Gore would be wanting to legislate, start more gun control and hey, let's bust down Billy's door and take his guns. If you think he would not...guess again. Bush is not bothering to p*ssyfoot and start looking in the closet and under the bed for guns. He is not about peeking out the door and saying please leave. He is pulling open the door, walking to the other house, kicking open the door and punching the bully in the face. He is giving a f*ck you, you're not gonna pick on the US or anyone else in the world.

The American President doesn't understand the religion of the Middle East. Bullsh*t! He worships Yahweh. The God of Retribution and Smiting. The God of picking up the jawbone of a donkey, and giving out a well-deserved whooping. So loosen your ties, check your panties, adjust the pocket protectors, fix the tape on your glasses, and hold your lunch money tight. Stop worrying about it being a fair fight. The USA is now using their rules and you know what? Why do Hussein and Bin Laden KNOW, their rules and games work? Because the US has THEM on the run and afraid of death, instead of the other way around. It's just too bad the USA has to step over the hiding cowards and the ones in line to kiss their terrorist asses in hopes of stalling a beating they are so afraid of.

And for the record, I am not American.

(I figure someone should be the devil's advocate)

We'll fix that soon enough.
We have a "with us or against us" policy to confront and assimilate. Foreign capitulation and 'support' only means you get assimilated last.

Iraq has NOTHING to do with terrorism.

Edit: It didn't until we occupied it and painted a big red bulls-eye on the backs of our troops. Now all the "terrorists" are flocking from everywhere to kill some americans in Iraq. The problem will never be solved. This will continue to happen until we leave. We are lucky only 33 were WOUNDED and not killed.

Right. You must have missed the part about Saddam attacking and taking over the country for wealth, power, and oil-rich lands. And then Saddam Hussein's rejection of diplomatic efforts to solve the crisis is what led to the decision to restore Kuwait's sovereignty by military force.

I guess that is not "terrorist" enough for you.
Get your lunch money out then...
