Also it looks like Rooney has got away with his recent assault charge, the student who made the claims has dropped all allegations against him. The
police said: "We were informed that the complainant did not want to pursue the allegation." To make such a claim as that and then drop it doesn't seem
right, someone put the squeeze on him?

Manchester United are fighting PSV Eindhoven for American international Eddie Johnson. Johnson is one of the hottest prospects in the US and has been
trailed by United since he was just 17 - he turns 21 on Thursday. In 2001 United were keen on securing his signature but Johnson was more than happy
to continue his career in America - where he has flourished with FC Dallas - formerly Dallas Burn. Now United have firmed up their interest again and
that resulted in Johnson spending two weeks training at Carrington earlier this month.
