Everton manager David Moyes has done a U-Turn and admitted James Beattie deserved to be sent off against Chelsea.

The England striker was shown a straight red card for head-butting Chelsea defender William Gallas early on in his side's 1-0 defeat on Saturday.

Moyes initially excused Beattie of any wrongdoing, claiming Gallas went to ground too easily.

its good to see he has changed his mind and has admitted it was desrved.

i wonder if beattie will be hit with a fine, and to see how moyes deal with this,

i didnt think beattie was the type of player who would do this to be honest

I watched him do it, bloody disgrace. He headbutted him a few times from behind. What made me laugh is that Beattie stood there after the game in an interview and said it was accidental and he didn't mean to do it. He was lying through his teeth and i hope he gets what he deserves.

not the ideal thing to be doing, after only playing for everton for about a month.

He well deserved it, he should have got worse than what he did. To say he never did anything is well wrong, how could he say that when it was blatent?
