Boxing: ALVAREZ NEXT FOR CHAMPION GOMEZ

Michael Gomez will defend his WBU super-featherweight crown against Javier Osvaldo Alvarez at the MEN Arena on February 11.

The 27-year-old will make the third defence of his title against the durable Argentinian when he headlines the bill, which could also include amateur bouts, in Manchester next month.

Alvarez is likely to give the Englishman a stern test having lost just five of his 36 fights, although Gomez has no intention of seeing his reign as champion come to an end.
