Boxing: Wlad ready for Oct 2 comeback

Former WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will return to action against fellow giant DaVarryl Williamson at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on October 2. The 1996 Olympic champ will have to look devastating after suffering two dreadful defeats in the last 18 months to Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster.

It will be the first outdoor card at the Palace in four years and is one of three main events on the Gary Shaw promoted card.

Also on the triple header IBF Junior Middleweight Champion Verno Phillips v Kassim Ouma and IBF No. 1 contender Syd Vanderpool will take on IBF No. 4 contender Jeff Lacy for the vacant IBF super middleweight belt.
