WBC Interim super middleweight champion Danny Green (right) announced on Thursday at a press conference at the Hurstville Ritz Hotel in Sydney that he will face South African Andre Thysse over 10 rounds on October 17 at the Challenge Stadium in Perth, Western Australia.

"He is a very tough guy," said Green. "I have seen him in some real wars. He is a very wild fighter. He is not afraid of anyone. He comes to fight and lets a lot of punches go. He is a tall rangy guy like myself. I think it will be very exciting fight."

"Andre is a very credible opponent," said Green's trainer/manager Jeff Fenech (left). "Danny hasn't fought for six months. We didn't want to have the hardest fight in the world, but we didn't want to have the easiest either. This fight is the perfect medium. We have watched him on tape and he is very, very tough and very durable. I think it is going to be the perfect preparation for Danny in moving towards the next step."
