IT was not the way Keith Jones would have wanted to celebrate his 100th venture into the professional ring, seeing referee Mike Heatherwick leap in to rescue him after nearly eight rounds of punishment from Bradley Pryce, 12 years his junior.
But the 35-year-old warrior from Cefn Hengoed can be proud of himself. A natural light-welter stepping in with a physically bigger man, he gave Pryce plenty of trouble and was never off his feet.
"I thought I could have finished the course," said Jones, as he showed wife Louise the cup he had been given to mark his achievement.
