Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnson and Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing have received their first England call-ups for Wednesday's friendly against Holland.

With Alan Smith and Darius Vassell both injured, Johnson was given his first England call after scoring 16 times for Palace already this season.

Downing was promoted from the under-21 squad along with Chelsea's Glen Johnson, while John Terry is set to partner Ledley King in defence against the Dutch after Rio Ferdinand joined Sol Campbell on the injured list with a hamstring injury.



England squad to face Holland at Villa Park on February 9:
