Sherlock Holmes

I am helping someone write a paper on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and I want to talk about Sherlock Holmes in the introduction. I start off by saying "He hunted Jack the Ripper, foiled a bank robbery (The Red-Headed League), and took down a German spy-ring," and what else? What can I add to that?
