Hoegaarden, Stella, Smithwicks, Shiner Bock, and Yeungling. I really love anything brewed in Belgium though. There are some talented brewers in that country, some of the best.

I make German Oktoberfest Beer about 4 times a year, golden color with a nice blend of light malt extract & crystal grains, medium-bodied, finishing with the Hallertau hop flavor.

Weizenbier is my second favorite to make.

I'm trying to perfect my ginger beer recipe, first time I made it I added too much ginger and it slowed down the yeast so much it didn't carbonate. It's been sitting about a year now and it's getting a pretty good carbonation going, but the taste is a little "off".
This spring I'm going to try the ginger beer again with a revised recipe.

I dig the weizens because they're so creamy. Nice to meet someone who's smart enough to brew their own stuff.

Years ago there was a brewer in Manchester called Brendan Dobbin who ran the West Coast Brewery. He was a brewing nut (brewing real ale with Castlemaine yeast, chinese yeast etc etc) but made a real ale ginger beer at 6%.

It was so good, so rare, and sold so quickly that if you found it you'd leave your car in a crime-ridden ghetto, get lashed, take a taxi home and worry about the car / meetings etc in the morning

I've been brewing beer for about 12 years. Just in the last 4 years I discovered the German and Belgian styles,,,, I couldn't believe what I had been missing out on.

The reason may lie in the fact I used to drink Budweiser with a few Beck's on the side.:w::w::w::w:

Ahh yes, very subjective topic indeed. I normally drink MGD when I drink beer because it's not too expensive and I like it. Heineken tastes skunked to me. Just so you know where I'm coming from.

And having said that, when money is no object and I want to splurge, there's a domestic brewer that does some excellent Belgian style ales.
