Good evening, Ladies and Gentlemen of abovetopsecret.com.

I have a few questions regarding certain activities of Ernesto Guevara De La Serna that I hope somebody here could help me with. Before I ask any such questions, I would just like to state that I am non-partisan, and am performing this enquiry in a non-partisan capacity. I kindly ask all members to take that into account when formulating a response, and to please leave any partisanship at the door, if indeed there are any responses at all. The purposes of this enquiry are to gain a greater understanding of the life of Ernesto Guevara, and attempt to deconstruct any disinformation (from whichever "side") about the actions of this man.

I will now proceed to my questions, if I may:

Recently, whilst doing some small time investigative research online pertaining to the late “Che” Guevara, I came across an article (link below), entitled “Fidel’s Executioner,” stating that the Argentinian born Revolutionary was nothing more than a blood-thirsty, Totalitarian Murderer, and Coward. The article also likens Guevara to Hitler on more than one occasion.

www.frontpagemag.com...

The source, as you can see, is David Horowitz’s Frontpagemag, which appears to be incredibly partisan, just as partisan, perhaps, as any pro-Guevara literature.

My questions are: How do abovetopsecret.com members perceive Ernesto Guevara De La Serna, and why? Do you agree with the author of the article, or disagree? Any information that can be produced to support your answers will be very much appreciated.

Thank you greatly for your time.

Che Guevara was a murderer. It disgusts me to see the youth of today walking around with his face printed on anything from tee-shirts to watches.
He was personally responsible for the torture and murder of hundreds of Cubans.
Many view him as a terrorist.

I found this interesting:

"Fidel, looks like Che's dead!"

"Well, if he's dead," replied Castro. "Then throw him overboard."

Never heard of that before.

Che Guevara was a killer- a mad communist- Castro's right hand man.

Why some see him as a heroe is a mystery to me. Maybe those who do will come forth and splain.

HE IS!!!!!!!!!!!

I had no clue who he was until later and my name is so inappropriate.

It isn't me at all.

Sorry for those who thought I support this coward!

guevara wasn't a murderer, he was a guerilla fighter, a battlefield medic, and a marxist

he was probably the most idealistic person in the cuban revolution, and, until his death, he kept castro's ideas in check

he had the cojones to stand up to the soviet union and tell them that they weren't being true communists

also, he wasn't for totalitarian regimes

if you can provide UNBIASED proof he was a bloodthirsty totalitarian, your point will hold more credence

killing those that are trying to kill you is called self defense

and cuba is a lot better now than it was before the revolution

healthcare is universal
literacy is at 100% (higher than the USA)

and you cannot honestly say that the previous cuban government was better, can you?

Madness,

You dont know what youre saying. How about you put your propaganda books down and talk to some real Cubans who are starving, who had all taken away from them?!
Do not post lies, saying Cuba is much better off now than it was...
You dont have any idea what you're saying.
Fidel should stick his medical ingenuity where the sun dont shine and feed his people and provide proper shelter and liveable conditions for his people...instead, they're still risking their lives everyday coming across the Atlantic on inner tubes just to escape the opression there.

If you think its so good there perhaps you should pack and go there.

WHERE IS YOUR F****** EVIDENCE!

there are stastics that show castro's regime as beneficiary (which i'm looking up now, so don't ask me for them), name 1 thing that the batista government has over the current castro regime

so you know, i'm not saying cuba is the best place in the world, i'm just saying that it is much better than it used to be as a result of castro. you've all just been brainwashed by propaganda that warps all socialist practices into soviet stalinism

I have heard much of that before...in variations...

Medical care..Canada is supposed to have similar care too. When they want real care ..those who can afford it come to America. I was very surprised to see that Australian crocodile man come to America for surgery...not have it done down under. Amazing of what this is a tell tale sign.

All that standard mantra about 100 % health care is just that ..good on paper. It is the same in places in Europe. Those who can afford it go elsewhere for medical care..those who cannot wait in line..often for months. Historically and statistically this is excatly what 100% health care means in the long run..when you sift through all the "statistics."

Dgtempe and I dont often agree...but I am with her on this one....the exodus of boat people is very telling...those who can get away or make a attempt will do so. Not just from Cuba but other paradises too...Hati being one also.

No I dont think Batista was that great. I will remind you that it is seldom in history that a revolution takes place and the system that takes over is better than the one before...very very seldom.
The one long lasting system which came to power on the heels of a revolution which made something good out of itself is the United States...and it too has had huge teething problems. But it didnt turn out like Cuba...or Hati..or other great utopias.

Of course Cuba is so great and such a guiding light it must be promoted on our colleges campuses as the way to go. Just like Che. Astonishing.

Those who know numbers..know statistics can be made with a little skill to read just about anything ..statistics to those who know is not evidence.

One more thing...your language skills on this topic indicate you need a makeover to get through it. It causing you alot of stress....

Thanks,
Orangetom
