Upon further inspection of my new SKS, and after analyzing the numbers on the rifle I have discovered my rifle is what is called a "Sino-Soviet SKS". So interesting enough I have a rarity that I picked up totally unexpectingly. Which makes it worth more than your average SKS to collectors.

the side of the receiver has printed Armory Number /26\ (Jianshe) with a serial number of 8072494. Which place the production of the gun in the 1960s. It also has a strange stamp near the ejection port of the rifle. Cyrillic of some type.

On the top of the bolt it has the Number C1794

It also has the tell-tale upsidedown U on the sight ladder...

Just goes to show you that you can pick something up and not even now what you have got until you check...

From what Ive read I basically have a chinese built SKS from soviet parts.

Does anyone know anything about the "Sino-Soviet" SKSs?

Sino means china/chinese

It means the rifle was made in china with russian/soviet parts
